Thanksgiving was a time for me to shine!Oh I was a little Martha Stewart!Everything was perfect, the house was spotless. My mom complaining she was starving, was it ready yet!My dad yelling at the kids, and he couldn't hear the parade! I cooked for 2 days!By the time we sat down to eat I was sick.Inside I was miserable! This year I feel different.Yeah, it is okay to have a Charlie brown kind of Thanksgiving!Popcorn anyone!!Happy Thanksgiving to all, have a fun day!!!
Mary I too fussed and prepared, not so we could have fun or a good time but so I would look good. Today I love the Holidays, and have found a middle ground and appreciate that I am enough and have enough thanks to HP
I'm Canadian so we had ours last month, but Happy Thanksgiving to you just the same. I have learned that I may never have everything I want but as long as I want everything I have, then I'll be ok. :)

This might sound crazy but my partner and I go to a truck stop outside of Phoenix for dinner. Very good buffet ....turkey and all the trimmings. We talk to the truckers all alone and take pumpkin pie and whipped home for desert.

I like Thanksgiving cause now besides the food we have lotsa eaters which this year included great grandkids and grandkids and kid and grands...we do catchup...I get to watch the kids doze off after eating while Gpa and Gma stay awake and smile. My daughter is doing genealogy research so the subject is wide and interesting. Thank you God its all good. (((((MIP))))))
Well, for my part, we already had the most stressful part of Thanksgiving, where my family comes over and digs in. In former years my wife would assume the role of what she now calls the Party Nazi. if any hitch happened, or anyone besides her was perceived to be slacking off, than the Nazi showed up and put us all in our places, had fits over various things not going right, etc.
This year it was completely different, my wife still cooked, but when cousins RSVPed two days before, after we had already bought the feast, she was irritated for a few minutes and said they were rude, but then it was gone. When I picked up a frozen turkey instead of a fresh turkey (the butcher's mistake) she just rolled with it. When we couldn't get the house completely cleaned up, we did what we could and rolled with it.
What a wonderful change from two years ago, which was very stressful because of this. And an even better change from last year, when the wife was sitting in jail after her 2nd DUI.
So I have much to be thankful for. I hope everyone else has good surprises for their Thanksgivings!
