Geez!

We are expecting a lot of snow in our area this week.  So...........someone has stolen our Township's snowplows as of tonight's news.  How in the world does anybody steal one snowplow let alone ALL the snowplows.  I know this has nothing at all to do with alcoholism and yet...this caper is as mind-boggling as the disease has been for me.  I am happy, however, that I am retired.  The first snow of the season.  I live in a rural area with hills that slope right down into a busy 4 lane highway that requires salt and plowing to render it safer for travelling.  I will be safely placed on my couch when the snow comes in and the township runs around with one assigned deputy from the Sheriff's Department looking for all our stolen snowplows.

Wow! So crazy. Since I am a native Californian, I am spoiled by no snow where I live. Some days it still feels like summer. Our warm weather has lasted too long this year. I don't like rain much either, but we need it badly! I enjoy looking at the snow from a warm couch with a cup of hot chocolate. The only time I've been skiing turned out terrible. My ex husband and my current husband both convinced me to try harder slopes and I ended up being scared to death because I attempted harder slopes when I wasn't ready...all to just please them and make them shut up. Now I know better. But I still don't like to ski. Will be interesting to hear if the snow plows show up.

yea, we are getting a cold snap...down to 30's at night..40's to 50's by day and i gotta work, but it isn't snow...I don't work on bad days....my rule of safety and especially now that i am driving a nice car......to tell you the truth, i am scared to drive in that stuff......

be warm...be safe.....i went to this thrift shop that is 1/2 off on mondays for seniours....got 2 cute pairs of jeans and 2 very cute sweaters...i think i paid like $7 for the package...it was 78 today, so ran around doing errands....when its cold, i hibernate........

I had to share this with you all! I love your responses. You all make me laugh or make me smile. Love the idea that they are parked behind the county bar after the last race. NLG - let's switch. I'll stay at your apartment. You can stay in my house. Neshema - I'm afraid to drive in it now, too. Rear-ended twice in a year while sitting at a light both times is enough for me. I'm glad you got some good deals at the thrift shop today, too. There's perks to being a senior, aren't there?

I'm wondering where one hides all the snow ploughs - but as Jerry says, in plain sight!

As long as all these shenanigans stay with Catherine and Paula in MI I am fine, I don't want this to start happening in Indiana. Maybe somebody decided to paint the snowplows camo and they can't be seen now?

biggrin  Kenny, Kenny, Kenny.  I love your sense of humor that you have thrown into the mix of the caper of the stolen snowplows.

Here in Wisconsin I live near Lake Michigan and we get plenty of snow and already have gotten some for the year. I commute to Green Bay 4 days a week for school an hour each way and I don't know what I would do if it wasn't plowed. That does sound like a conundrum for sure! I agree check around back of the local watering hole, or better yet maybe they were painted white and just blend in plain site, haha! This MIP family is full of humor and that is why I love it. Sending you lots of warm thoughts, love and support!

Update on the caper of the stolen snowplows. Now, the story is that snowplow blades, hydraulic parts and a trailer were stolen. Whew. Glad for the new news. I was concerned that somebody could drive in one day and steal my house and nobody would be the wiser. Kind of like alcoholism. We hear a story that can sound absolutely horrific and if we wait, the story might change as other facts or people are added to the storytelling?

Of course, because the blades were stolen, snow can't be plowed but trucks can zoom up and down and around lookin' powerful.
