This may or may not sound crazy but I've been hearing alotbofvthis I guesss alanon quote that I havent a clue as to what it means can someone plz give me the alanon def to it its....It's The destination is on the ticket ?????
"The destination is printed on the ticket" means "You already know what you're going to get when you're with an A." Just as you can read the ticket when you're on the train and you know where you're going, when you're with an A you know where you're going: chaos, insanity, lies, manipulation, pain, and unhappiness. But so many of us tell ourselves that it will be different. We tell ourselves that somehow our A will give us happiness, stability, calm, and security. But that's not what alcoholism does. The destination is already printed on the ticket.
And I believe it is a good slogan for life as well. How many time do we get somewhere in life, not like it, and realize that we were the ones that bought the ticket, looked at it the whole way, knew where the destination was, and now don't like it?
I stand guilty of that quite often! Denial usually has a large part in that one.
