A cat is a cat.

Was sitting outside before with kitty in my lap. He was rolling around in the sun being the happiest, purriest kitty in the world, enjoying belly scratches and rubbing his teeth on my face which I think passes for kissing in kitty-world. And then 2 birds landed in the yard and kitty changed...suddenly he was all waving tail, crazy-eyes and the weird burbling "I want the birdies" noise that he makes. (Sometimes I think he tries to imitate a bird-call, it's the weirdest noise). Anyway that was it for kitty and I sharing the sunshine. I held on to him and talked rationally to him..."come on Michael Douglas, don't spoil a beautiful time together by running off and chasing birds. You know you can't stop at just one. Before you know it there will be squawking and yowling and feathers and entrails everywhere..."

He wasn't listening. He just kept whacking me in the face with his tail and digging his claws in and growling until I took him inside. And now he is outside my door scratching and yowling and he peed all over the bags I bought for packing my clothes yesterday.

Do I even need to explain the ways in which he reminds me of ABF?

lol. Still, it doesn't mean that 15 minutes or so in the sun wasn't nice. A cat is a cat after all.

An excellent analogy. Acceptance is the key :)

That is so true - a cat is a cat and all the belly scratching and kitty kissing in the world won't make him less than a cat or more than a cat. All we can do when they go on the hunt is stay out of their way or keep 'em in the house where they'll fight to get out or mess up our stuff.

Love this! Loving cats is all about acceptance - ours, not theirs of course!

Is he neutered? I had a male cat who stopped peeing everywhere once I got his peaches cut off. Lol

His peaches, NLG? Now, that is one I've never heard before.

My martial arts instructor used that term the other day to describe a "groin strike" he was teaching us. I thought it was funny.
