I met with my sponsee this afternoon who made it home with his near terminal mother from being on another island, homeless and on the streets for 8 days after being turned away from rehabilitation after she was approved for it.
Dear God I thought I was catching heat and now understand that quite often what I suffer is little in comparison to others less fortunate. He related the journey and included the miracles which were also part of the story...the nurses who did a collection so his mother could have a bit of money and the doctor that used credit card flight miles so that they could get back home as the trip had cost him dearly. Thank you God for generous hearts and spirits.
I told him when he had asked if I could help that he had asked minutes after I had an emergency myself which included using up precious finances and that part of that didn't come from a generous open hearted person. I had lunch with a generous open hearted person, my daughter who is a pleasure to sit with at all times and we made an agreement to do a family weekend each month from now on. She hit for the lunch for my birthday...the 72nd of the series...Korean Chicken is a very very tasty gift, do you agree?
I'm still doing quiet as that is best condition to hear my HP speak. Often times HP speaks thru others and there are sooooo many others available. Many are here at MIP and for that I am grateful. Thanks for letting me share (((((hugs)))))
(((Jerry))) Thank you for the inspiring share- so wonderful to read. I'm glad you enjoyed time with your daughter and a very nice bonus of yummy Korean chicken! I'm grateful.
Happy birthday Jerry, lots of precious memory building for you both as you share time with your beautiful open hearted daughter. Please be kind to my friend Jerry
Happy birthday jerry, yes, sorry debilyn, I do agree with you about the chicken sounding very nice. Eating it with your daughter sounds great.
I really like what you said about being quiet enough to listen to your higher power, im not great at being quiet but it works brilliantly when I try it. Ive been very noisy lately and its squeezed out the small inner voice. I need to practice listening, its such a skill.x
Happy Birthday yesterday Jerry - Korean Chicken I've never had, but if I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, chicken would be the choice, (sorry Deb). I have a hard time going quiet for too long, HP made me one of those people who go into annoying Chatty Cathy mode at times, one of which was yesterday while I put up shelves at my mom's house; putting shelfs for books using upside down brackets because the shelf was above a window and there was no wall space below; putting shelf brackets in walls made of toilet paper and spit so that the anchors I thought would work pulled right through the material so I had to make another store run for toggle anchors that finally did the trick - took me three times longer to get the work done than it should have had they had proper studs in proper walls, oh well, it was what it was and I had to work with it the way it was! 2/3s of the way through we broke for a meal, went to a great pizza place, crust was amazing, pizza had tons of stuff on it, great cheese, and I added a wedge salad without the wedge lettuce cause they were out, ha, and made it with romaine instead. Then it was back to moms and I finished the installation, cleaned up, gathered up my stuff and headed home.
I was in one of those annoying chatty moods all through the afternoon and at one point was telling sis about a guy I talked to the day before who talks a lot and my sister said something along the lines of "HE talks a lot.....?" I laughed hard, nodded my head and acknowledged that sometimes I can really babble my brains out!
The drive home was quiet though, except for the music I played, uneventful and I felt good because I got something productive done that will help someone else.
I got home to a sweet little gift, my daughter had crocheted me a Baby Groot, put it in a pot with stones and all, its so cute, makes me smile when I look up at it.
It was a good day, my mom still has cancer, she still lives in a hoarder's house that desperately needs a cleaning crew, but I did what I could - oh, and we also put up a tv on the wall above her computer too, so she can lay on the couch we moved last weekend and watch tv when she is tired and doesn't have to walk all the way to her bedroom (during chemo and after the upcoming surgery). (my sister is so thoughtful).
My son-in-law got home very late last night, his fourth deployment overseas, hopefully his last - seeing pics of him with family, reading words that tell how happy he is to be home. I'm so glad that he made it home safely. Oh and the day before my daughter (his wife) drove over a low curb, broke her tire (yes, broke rubber) and worried while she waited for her daughter to get done with an event, worried the cars innards were going to spill out. She relayed bawling her eyes out with her son bawling beside her in the car, bawling from stress, relief, thankfulness, because HP had sent her two angels in the form of young men in Khaki shorts who changed her broken tire out for the donut in the trunk. The innards were intact, underside dented but not punctured and she made it home safely driving carefully on the donut, after the two hour wait for her teen (the things we parents do for our kids!).
Life IS what it IS - the beat goes on. Love you Jerry - Happy Birthday!

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another! ~ Anatole France
Happy birthday Jerry. I was in Hilo a few weeks ago. Wow what a beautiful place you live in. I love to lay on my back and look at the sky through the leaves of the palm trees. (In Michigan we don't get palm trees.)
