Diva I do understand the terrible devastation that the disease of alcoholism beings on the family and the alcoholic them selves .

This is a disease that keeps on giving. My husband had stopped drinking for over 7 years when he died of a cancer caused by alcohol consumption and my son passed from alcohol poisoning. It is an equal opportunity destroyer.

I am so grateful for alanon , the tools and the meetings. They saved my life and sanity

hotrod, I guess I must have missed your history. How tragic. Just that you are here and encouraging others is a testament to AlAnon and your commitment to work the program. God Bless You and thank you for sharing ESH w/ others. It would be easy to curl up in a ball and just cease to participate, but that is not what we are supposed to do.
