I am grateful for my daughter and her health, for my health, for my jobs, for my intelligence, for my sister, my family of origin, my husband's family who love my daughter, for the few friends I have and can count with.
I am grateful that my husband manages to be a better dad to my daughter then my dad was to me.
I am grateful for Ala-Non and MIP and all the help I receive here.
Today I will count my blessings instead of being angry at what I can not change.

I am grateful for the peaceful, calm life I have built over the last 4 years. Very grateful for my Al-anon program that I have learnt solid grounding for healthy living from.

Being able to mature into a warm, loving woman with good boundaries and self of self. A firm and whole person. I am grateful that I am sober today. Grateful to feel physically and mentally healthy. To have a nicely organised life. Not swinging from chaos to rigid controlling, but a nice middle ground. To have good people in my life. To no longer be attracted to seedy people and a seedy lifestyle. To have raised my standards of my own behaviour in that respect.

To have dealt with the passing of my mum and dad fully and in a connected not numb way. But also not over the top.

To know what is my responsibility and what is not. To take ownership or let go, as appropriate. To 'detach with love'. To think before I speak or act. Again middle ground, not obsessing or not being rash.

Having balance in my life. Growing and moving forward everyday.

OOOh, thank you Looking Up, I love seeing Gratitude Lists.

Today I am grateful for.

The black currents that I've just been picking
For my lovely dog, who I haven't seen for ten days and who greets me as though its been ten years
For the breeze and the sunshine
For my health
For my friends and family
For MIP and the generosity of all who contribute here
For the power to say no to my thoughts and move on
For the power to say no to my thoughts again and move on just a little bit further!
For the opportunity to add to this post, thank you for that Looking Up.

Love you guys.

That was awesome LU!

I'm grateful for the recovery community as it exists everywhere
I'm grateful for my husband - whom I married again yesterday at home in our own church to celebrate with our family here that could not travel to Maryland
I'm grateful for my sponsor
I'm grateful for my 6 pets (3 dogs, 2 parrots, 1 cat)
I'm grateful for my job
I'm grateful to have grown older and wiser
I'm grateful for my sobriety.

As far as something I did just for me - Well, it was a rather "other focused day" with the blessing of marriage ceremony and what not, but I still later watched some of my own shows on Netflix that my husband does not really like so I did that while he was off doing errands and I read part of a fantasy novel. I read those books to relax and escape (books about dragons, wizards, quests, made up lands...) whereas I used to be either trapped in my kooky head or obsessing about others. I also went to an AA meeting in the morning.

Thanks for starting this grateful list, LU!

I am grateful to my God for without Him I could do nothing. I am grateful to my family and friends for always having patience with me. I am grateful for my health. Even though I have a lot of aches and pains, I am able to get up each morning and take care of myself. I am grateful for Al-Anon and MIP.
