I'm hungry,angry,lonesome,and tired ,what next?ive been cooking cooked a great supper abf has been sick with cold but eating like a horse,he said he was feeling better this morning,little if any contact with him,he lies in bed for most part.i guess all the pills he is taking to get better has him tired and draggy.
LU when you: Feel Hungry we eat, Angry, we suggest that use a tool of the program, pray, make a program call-- Identify why we are angry and then take a constructive action , Lonely, we connect with program people or a friend, Tired we rest
The most important idea to understand is that we must keep the focus on ourselves and take the action necessary to take the actions to enable us to feel better.
I love HALT, it was one of the first tools I learnt and it has helped me so much.
To focus on what I need to feel good and comfortable in my own skin. My own particular pleasure is to sit on my comfy sofa and enjoy a hot drink and some of my fave fruit whilst reading something uplifting. I wonder what your pleasure would be. What you like to do to comfort yourself.
HALT for me makes me slow down and take extra care of my situations. These physical and emotional feeling can and have and will make me go sideways with my behaviors. I will make mistakes I wouldn't have made if I take care of those needs. Hungry? eat something to relieve the hunger. Angry? inventory why and use acceptance of what or who it is that I have no control over. Lonely? Practice self love and self care and letting go and letting God. Tired? rest and relax, mind, body, spirit and emotions.. Great Post. ((((hugs))))
