You know I was always praying for rain and today HP answered me BIG TIME. Phoenix got hit so hard I thought it was going to wash away. Up here in New River we got 4 1/2 inches in about a hour. The streets were being scraped but the mud and rock is everywhere. Coming down a street to get home is a dip through a wash which never has water in it had at least 3 feet of mud and rock. Thanks to a good neighbor with a tractor he was able to get the pile pushed aside for cars to get by. Down the road a bit closer to the New River Wash, which never has water....was so high flowing, it was coming up over the bridges onto the streets. People having to be rescued from their home being washed away. It's been 3 days of rain now and more to come tonight. They said the north valley ( New River ) is going to get hit hard. I'm glad I'm home.
Love the rain, we needed it badly but OMGOSH this is crazy for Arizona.

Could you pray for a moderate amount of rain for Central Texas?
Tee-hee. We lived in Houston during a big flood. Husband said "Water is running down the street and it's curb to curb." I didn't think too much of it. Then later I found out instead of running North, to the storm drain, it was running South, to the Interstate, blocks and blocks away. I'm so glad I didn't know that at the time.

(((((Cathy)))))....yeppers know that storm thing and sending you ESH from the aftermath of Iselle. Great that here and there others step out of their comfort zones to help others. Life aint all bad is it? Keep alert.
Cathy, I was thinking of you today when the road near us (Jomax) was flooded and I couldn't cross while coming home with my son from the orthodontist. I had gone a different way to get there but went home the back way and saw all the cars turning around and saw the water rushing across the street.
We had water rushing through our normal dry washes here, too. We've lived in this house for 3 years and I've never actually seen moving water through the wash. So scary out there. I was down in the Biltmore area tonight and I saw tonight's storm brewing out west and I knew it was coming. One of the tennis kids said, "The sky looks evil tonight! Don't y'all agree?" I took ds out of tennis early and booked it up the 51 to try to get home before the rain hit. Even though it did rain, it wasn't nearly the torrential downpour that we had this AM where I swear my roof was going to cave in! My pool is nearly overflowing right now and I figure I need to backwash it but I'm afraid to put anymore water in the wash next to the house, LOL!
Glad you are OK! I heard there's more rain forecast for Thursday so we can pray that it dries out soon!
