We are here with you LU...grateful you brought the situation  with trust to the MIP family.   Having Al-Anon within arms reach when I was growing was a God thing and I felt sooooo blessed about how it worked out.  HP is more cunning, powerful and baffling than the disease when I surrender.   ((((hugs)))) smile

When they want what they want, they're very good at being sweet and persistent till we give in...

If nothing has changed with him, no recovery programs or anything, then what you got before is what you will get again.  That's pretty much a guarantee.  As Jerry F said once, "The destination is printed on the ticket."

What helped me was to write down all the things he did that were painful and all the insanity and disappointment that happened.  You might want to write those things down as they happen.  Because we tend to forget and the A's want that to happen.  Then the whole cycle starts again.  So it's important to remember and keep perspective.

sadly sometimes it takes some more pain to get us to really let go, and not allow the disease to manipulate us.

true, nothing changes if nothing changes. He is still a cheater, will always be a cheater.

What is more important is after your kicking him out how many times? What makes you believe in him? I know you are sick and working hard on your recovery.

Its no different than him working on recovery and then this little drink with legs and a face walks up to him and says, come on, just drink me, just little ole me. I will take care of you, hug you, I want you! We must be working our program and strong and say no way, if we are ready.

there is an al anon saying, "well I guess you have not been beat up enough."

we all care about you, when will you care about you?
