I'm very concerned

I know the importance of f2f meetings. I know I desperately need these meetings. Last night there were only two people, me and one other lady at my al-anon meeting. I have to drive about 25 miles to this town b/c my little home town has no al-anon group. I'm afraid my group is dying. The next closest town is about 35 miles away. These meetings are at night and I have a terrible time driving at night. Please pray my little al-anon group won't die b/c I need them desperately.

Most of the meetings I have attended have had periods were they look like they may close,

Have you done any PI work put poster up, leaflets in doctors etc

its attraction rather than promotion but they say al anon is the best kept secret people will not know unless we do PI.

I do the footwork and then hand over the outcome to Hp. Another idea is to go and give flyers to the local AA meetings they may have family or friend's that need a meeting.

good luck

This is a small group only about 5 people, but last night was the first time it's only been me and one other lady. I have thought about putting  flyers in doctors offices and such, but I'm new to this group and I don't want them to think I'm over stepping. I have told them I wish we could get more participation. I know there are people in this town that are hurting and need the help. I think at the next meeting I'll asked them about flyers. If they have some, I'll gladly go around to the doctors' office and put them out.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Folks read bulletin boards at groceries and the like, too - just in case you might want to put some up there? Some of the most hidden issues with alcoholism can be found in churches where folks are afraid to admit there is an issue of alcoholism in the family. Local churches might be willing to put some in their narthex or the lobby or the pastor's office?

Linda,

I will pray that your meeting won't die. God is good and will provide, like He is right now with this message board. If all fails, you have us! But I think God still works miracles and I think I will pray very hard for your group. Hang in there and try to have peace in your heart, let God work this one out.

hugs,

Tina
