I went to a movie this Sunday with my AH. It was the house activity for the week. This time around I told myself repeatedly to keep it light, be positive and upbeat and don't bring up all my hurts, anger, resentments to him again. We had a very good time at the movie. He was excited to share with me some of his progress and I actually just listened. I didn't add my 2 cents, my opinions etc. We had a few minutes after the movie to chat and I left him on a positive note. Although I still have my own feelings, thoughts and opinions on this entire mess, it felt good to leave on a positive note with a hug and kiss. It felt good not to leave crying, upset and sick. Determining my attitude before talking with him and seeing him made all the difference in the world.
I bought a new car this weekend and went to show it to him at the house, he was excited for me. Which felt good also.
Attitude adjustments really do make a difference. When I make up my mind to keep my attitude positive things flow so differently.

Thats great flower, I do this with every person im going to spend time with, well whenever I leave the house really, I say the first 3 steps and the prayer just to keep myself in check before I interact with other human beings. It works.x
You did great Linda. The way I look at it....is the A is so sick they don't think about anything but themselves for a time in recovery but as they progress the family comes back into play and amends are made. Just give it time and keep taking care of you so you will be ready for what might or might not come.
It's very hard I know but this illness doesn't just get better overnight and might never get there but you are moving on for YOU.
Lets pray your AH will come along and give the love and support he once did a long time ago.
