Question about chairing a meeting

At our meeting tonight no came to chair the meeting. I didn't know what to do, so I went ahead and started with all the usual al-anon speak, we chose step 1 as our topic and then I closed with the usual al-anon closing and prayer. I hope this was ok to do, I needed a meeting and the others did too. Not sure what to do if that happens again.

Sounds as if you did just fine Flower. It is obvious that this is a fellowship of equals and you stepped up when needed.
Good work<

Yep, sounds fine to me too. I have shown up to meetings where they needed a chair and I usually offer to lead. I usually just read the day's reading from Courage to Change and then we talk about it or open it up for whatever folks want to really talk about. Always feels good to step up and contribute, doesn't it?

Sounds good to me too! Good for you for stepping up. Being secretary helped me so much. I hate speaking in front of people. It helped me feel more confident.
