and it didn't seem that anyone missed him or cared. We had a Yogurt Birthday party for my 10year old grandson (freaking delicious!!). My daughter and son-in-law were paying and I've been practicing liking freebies so I went...Wife was feeling spine sore so Its up to me right?? lol We all had fun catching up on stuff and generally having a good time and toward the end I was noticing who was missing...my second eldest son and family have moved to Montana so that is an acceptable excuse right? My eldest son is out there practicing the disease and it looks like the family is over him and his drama. His name never came up. No one asked and no one told. Family 21, alcoholic/addict 0...going back for more yogurt. ((((hugs))))
It was a day of joy and fun for the grandson not the day to think about the AS. So happy you had a good day. Lets just pray something will change for the better so all the family will be together again.

Good to hear you enjoyed the day with your grandson. The same happens when I get together with my daughters - my son's name never comes up. It's sad but what we need for our own healing.
I know what you mean Rose and then there was so much laughter and conversation that when I looked around the room I couldn't see the sadness. I felt I was maybe a bit out of place having the thought and then I'm a lifetime fellow of the World-wide fellowship of the Al-Anon Family Groups huh? ((((hugs))))
