The last few weeks I feel I have been called to possibly be alateen sponsor? I feel like I need to expand my program a little bit, have some new experiences and it weighs on my mind here and there...my intuition..my hp..Has anyone on the board ever been one? if so what was it like? please share your esh

Sister the experiences will build a deep and wide foundation for your own recovery... I was an active sponsor for 6 years and currently am registered as one while no meetings currently exist here. Sponsors "help" the teens run their own recovery. Once they learn what to do and how to do it they will grow so fast you will be amazed!! One reason for the rapid growth is that they do not have the longevity of the actions and reactions of the disease and so with the ESH, steps, traditions, slogans etc and their mutual support they drop the affect of the disease quickly and move on to rebuilding their minds, bodies, spirits and emotions in a way that at times made me support in awe. Alateen is part of the Al-Anon Family Groups...if there are no Alateen meetings, they can attend open Al-Anon meetings and on the west side of our Island when the Alateen meeting closed for lack of participation Al-Anon absorbed the teens. Last East/West Family get together I went to one of the speakers was an 11 year old Alateen in service in Al-Anon. Blew my shoes off...glad they were an old pair.
If you decide to do it...I am totally in support of your choice and you can have all of my ESH from my experiences for free (of course). Good for you!! Thank God for you and any other AFG member who takes the opportunity also. ((((hugs))))
Thats an amazing thing to do, I wanted to do this but I have been told there is no alateen in this part of the world. Some of the old timers talk about their own involvement a long time ago when it was available. It seems to have been a completely positive experience for everyone. I can understand it must be nerve racking but ask your higher power for guidance and check out the official website for literature and guidelines.x
