Music is good for the soul

Good Morning Everyone

I woke up this morning in the pits.  On my way to work I usually listen to talk radio but this morning the guest host pissed me off so I turn the channel.   I turned it to a oldies station.   One of my favor songs back in the day was  " Brown Eyed Girl " by Van Morrison.  WOW....I got so into it I turned up the sound  (great sound in the car ) powered down the windows and went crazy  singing and drumming the wheel.   I think everyone on the freeway was looking at me because the doors and and windows were pounding just like the  guys with the with the sound systems you can hear a mile away  LOL.

Well anyways it just brought me out of my funk and oh the memories back when!!!

Thank you 550 KFYI for sending me this talk show host and THANK YOU 94.5 Cool FM for making my day!!

(((( hugs ))))

PS:  I'm going to download this song...take it home and play it as loud as I can without blowing the speakers and dance the evening away

RE: Music if good for the soul

I agree Catherine--- Music does speak to my heart and soul and is so uplifting.

I take a 2 hour Amtrak train ride to my sister's beach home each week On the way, I listen to my old Country and Western music from: Johnny Cash, Hank Williams ,Patsy Kline etc. Oh the memories. I feel so relaxed and happy during the entire trip. It is a joy .

I hear you. Music has a way of lifting my spirits too. I was blasting the Moody Blues greatest hits just the other day. Although, sometimes at night I listen to Leonard Cohen, who's music I find melancholy but hauntingly beautiful and just let the sadness wash over me.

Cathy: Your share made me happy! Letting go, singing and using your steering wheel for a drum and your hands for the sticks, love it! Glad you turned the dial and found a way to "get down" that got you up.

I agree Cathy, less talk , more music.

Music breaks down barriers and transcends all things.

You go girl.

I am so with you on this one, Cathy...I think music is such a wonderful and uplifting escape. For me, it is just generally uplifting in any situation. I am completely guilty of cranking up the radio in my car and singing as loud as I can (windows up, of course!-LOL). It can often change a yucky mood to sunny in no time. Oh, and Van Morrison is awesome!

Dancing now to Sly and the Family Stones "Dance to the Music," Cathy. Thanks for the suggestion to listen to Oldies but Goodies. I've been cleaning my house to them. Now, it's Chuck Willis and C.C. Rider. "Goin away baby, won't be back at aaaalllllll." The Stroll wasn't it to this one?

I totally agree. Music lifts me up so much. I like Pandora too. Found some good Christian rock groups that send a nice positive message.
