One week ago he got arrested for the same thing today. I always look at our county jails and there I see his name.. I prayed this morning for god to give me a sign my son is alive and god heard me. In my eyes it's a blessing but as any mother it hurts very much. One hour later I get a phone call and it's my son .. He sounded horrible and our conversation was lengthy but I told him I will for ever love him unconditional and I will be his strength but he can do more for himself them I already did if he truly wants help. He very much agreed. He was crying .. I told him I will not join in on your tears for I need to stay strong for us for when you need me. He said he loves his sister and daughter and to move forward with my grandparent visits. I told him going to see him is not in my plans but with time I will visit he was fine with that. I told him he has a family that loves and cares for him and we never turned our backs. I said I gave you what you wanted as much as it hurt and that was your path and he said " I know ".. I will pray for my son. N pray this is his bottom, and gets the help he needs. He does not deny his addiction actually he is brutally honest about it. I will continue to work on me for me !!! Thank you for letting me let it out as I cry. Because I did not want him to hear me cry.
You did good Gaby. You are letting your son realize the consequences of his choices. For the long haul this is what we have to do to save ourselves and hopefully save them. When someone has to work very hard for something they will never forget and keep it up to the best of their ability. If they don't they know where it leads.
Let our son's grow in their own way and on their own time. For my son I think being in prison will give him the time to grow and think without the interference of the drugs and alcohol....at least I pray so.

I think you are awesome, Gaby. If my ABF's mother could just let go and let him be a grownup and deal with the consequences of his actions, he might have a shot at getting better. But instead, she is going crazy finding him a place to stay and telling him his actions aren't his fault, he is a victim. She won't let him fall or suffer.
What you are doing is the best possible thing for yourself and your son and I salute you.
