Soaring on my own now....

It is now starting to sink in that the one person I called when anything really good or bad was going on is no longer just a phone call away or on this earth any longer. There was really something special about having her as a sponsor and being able to say anything and not be judged for it and loved through it all. The good news is her husband and I bonded so much the last two weeks and I now have him. He is an A.A. sponsor and has done it for as long as I have been alive. Things are going really well for me and I do have a good perspective on life right now. I am glad to have my little one home now and we are about to go on a vacation to see my childhood best friend in Texas and I am excited to show my girls new places. It is so nice to no longer just be surviving, but to be growing and actively living. While doing hospice care for my sponsor I was back in the small town my ex-husband still lives in and we ran into each other, I stopped to chat with him and let him know what was going on, he of course is sick and had to remind me, but I knew how to handle it. I was reminded why I moved an hour and a half away with my girls to where I knew no one and to start over and I stayed alone for a year to just heal and work with my sponsor on me. I have a year and a half left of school and I am doing my best to keep my head above water financially. Life is going to have its normal struggles and I can handle them.

I now feel like my sponsor has given me so much and now I get it and am ready to really live out her legacy to the best of my ability. I want to pay it forward and be the loving, gentle patient mentor she was to so many over her 83 year journey on this planet. So I will now diligently be mindful of myself, my words and actions and walk a stronger walk preparing myself for whatever is to come. I strive to be the Mom I want to be, the employee and student I want to be and to be keeping God in the drivers seat steering my walk. Thanks MIP family for always being here. Sending you all love and support on your journey's!

Thanks for sharing your journey, BF. You are an awesome mom! You are going to do great as you keep working your program, living out the legacy that was placed before you. The strength you have shown us here is somewhere I wish I can be in the future. Love what you've shared and I feel it is a blessing to have this program that we can share with others; the good and the bad and all the struggles in between! HUGS to you and your girls today!!

Beautiful, BF! Beautiful. Don't want to hug you since it could interfere with your flight pattern today, so I'll just wave and watch you soar and dip and dive and soar again. Flying free, that's our Breaking Free!

I am so glad you have her, and now you have her husband, who surely needs you too!

you sound really good. When I lost my Mother, a good online friend became my mom. She was 100% mom. We were so close.  then I lost her.

I get how valuable your ladyfriend was to you. you are a true friend to be with her till her passing.

I have a friend and cousin in texas, grab me an armadillo would you??? hugs!
