I have a friend who's daughter is graduating this next week and is all upset about having to get her daughter a new dress. Excuse.....she's wearing a cap and gown why does she need a dress.
Well it took me back. I didn't have much of a family growing up because my mom died young and my dad was a very busy man, remarried a very young woman with 5 kids. Not the best for me. But what I do remember and will never forget is when my dad took me to the best store in town. Brought me any dress I liked with shoes and jewelry to boot. I remember coming home and spending hours putting on my outfit, fixing my hair and making sure everything was going to be just right for my day.
It made me smile that I do have good memories, so lets not dwell on the bad ones.

OH!!!!!!!! We need dresses under those gowns? Even the black ones? Grin. I don't miss the teen mothering years. I really don't.
And it was touching for me to see you and your Dad shopping for exactly what you wanted on your big day and seeing your joy remembered on that big day! (((C)))
