Magic!

Have been really out of sorts the last few days- just...dropping things, fuzzy thinking, arguing instead of walking away and then getting upset about it...you know how it goes. Today I had a driving lesson and asked the A to drop me off on his way to work (my instructor and I meet in town so I can practice city driving). On the way there I saw a lamb struggling with its head stuck in the fence, and knew I would see the same lamb dead on my way home. So I begged A to go back for it (you can imagine how pleased he was about that) and someone else had already stopped to help it so, of course, he got grumpy and I engaged and ended up in angry tears. Ugh, so I was late for my lesson, then I had a poor lesson, nothing major except I keep speeding without noticing and couldn't park to save my life. Decided to get out at the shops and walk home as I needed milk but ended up buying a huge bag of potatoes and stopped at the op-shop (why oh why did I do that?) and bought some stupid foot massager that weighs a tonne.  I bet I never, ever use it :-/ what's wrong with me lately?? lol.  And then, I walked out the front of the shop with my heavy bags and contemplated the long and hilly walk home and I stopped and prayed. (This is a very new concept for me; I never used to do that unless I was in seriously dire straits) just, you know "OK I'm in a mess and I keep making things worse. I feel like I'm undoing all of my good work. Please help me get my centre back so I can get on with doing the next right thing!!"

Well lo and behold, around the corner came the bus (it only runs every 2 hours at this time of day so it was quite uncanny). It stopped even though I was nowhere near a bus stop and when I got on the driver was super friendly and the lady sitting at the front said "I told him he had to stop because you couldn't possibly walk with all of that stuff". What an angel. Then, as I sat down I looked out the window and the VERY first thing I laid eyes on was the sign out the front of the church where I go for my al-anon meeting, and it said "Success is failure that tried one more time".

Home now, ready to do my daily al-anon stuff and then get on with some study. It just works, doesn't it? It's magic.

(((Everyone)))

Oh, Melly. What a kind heart is yours. And - I love your story of your HP doing for you what you couldn't do for yourself and then sending you a sweet message that you could read on top of it. I'm so glad to see you turned your situation into your HP's hands and knew exactly WHO it was who helped you without any effort on your part other than the request for help. Good program work, sister. Thanks for the share.

Only problem with the foot massager now is that I'm worried I'll burn out the motor!!! It's the kind that sits on the floor and warms and massages your feet while you sit.... It's on right now......ahhhhhhhhhh lol. What a bargain

And here you thought you wouldn't use it. I prefer foot massages to full body massages. I found a gal who did all of it plus energy stuff. I just couldn't get enough of the foot massage even though she preferred the energy stuff. There was something so healing about my feet being in warm, swirling water followed by a massage. My whole body returned to being centered, relaxed and vibrating in good health. It was well worth the $40 she charged for half an hour. I'm glad you've found that massager - and are enjoying the release it affords you. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh right with you, sister.

I can't seem to turn it off, lol I'm tempted to go to bed and just lay with my feet hanging over the edge still on the massager.
Who dumped this amazing contraption at the op-shop, and why? It's fantastic!
lol. I wonder if one can become addicted to such a thing.
"Have you missed work because of your foot massager?"
"Do you hide your foot massager around the house?"

Best $15 I ever spent.

Do you have a family history of foot massage addiction?
Do you tell yourself that you can always unplug the foot massager - tomorrow?
Have you and a family member or good friend ever had fights about the foot massager?
Do you keep an extra foot massager around the house in case the primary breaks down?
Have you lost interest in other activities because your life is now centered around your foot massager?

These are serious questions to ask yourself Melly. Foot massagers produce a rush of dopamine that can be greater than the amount you get during other, formerly pleasurable activities.
