Job interview

I have a job interview on Monday in the morning in a city 5 hrs away. I leave tomorrow. I found an economical hotel close to the interview. I am nervous I purchased a new outfit and got car ready. I have been meditating and praying to HP. I have made wonderful friends in Alanon and at my work. I would miss them so much if I got the job. A part of me wants to stay and another says to go.. I feel like such a dork cuz I am probably the only applicant that has their whole life riding on their decision. I will see how it goes and if I actually get the position or not.

It's just an interview. Wait till u are actually offered the job before you start worrying about life decisions.

It's not your whole life. Your life and your HP are constants wherever you are. If your "whole life was riding on it", then you'd die if you got it vs. live if you didn't? It could be life changing, yes, but then again, there are life changing pivotal moments of our lives DAILY. I missed all the opportunities when tied to a drunk and also when in my own alcoholism. Now I pay attention, take positive risks, and roll with it while having faith. I have changed jobs 5 times since I have been in the program and all led me to something my HP wanted me to learn. RELAX. Your life is in the hands of your HP and it will work out how it's supposed to.

I'm glad you're stepping out and going on that interview, TG. Maybe you'll get the job. Maybe you won't. But, you might have a wonderful time practicing for the next interview once you get there or seeing some fun things along the way that you wouldn't have seen if you didn't take the risk and go on that interview. Good for you.

How exciting...talk it out with your sponsor and your HP.  You did this for a reason so there must be a consequence you're looking for.  Blessings and good luck.  We don't use the name dork when talking about Texasgal...we love her and go easy on her spirit.   (((((hugs))))) smile

Oh TexasGirl .. how did the interview go? You would be surprised on what other people are dealing with and you are just never going to be alone in that regard. :)

The best part about Alanon .. is you never know when these people will come back into your life .. there are other wonderful Alanon groups all over the place .. just know you are not alone in terms of old/new friends .. this is so exciting and I am soooo happy for you!

Regardless of the outcome .. God has got this .. the God of my understanding always has a better plan than I hope to .. regardless of the outcome I'm so excited for you because it took tremendous courage to go and interview and step outside of your comfort zone.

Hugs S :)

Someone once told me that when the amish pray, they move their feet.  It sounds like you moved your feet darn good!

Thank you all for the kind words. I will relax and just see how it goes. I am nervous I will be taking it one hour at a time today. One of my program friends will be driving up with me. I am grateful she will be going with me :)
