The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I have found that in alanon, the slogans derive equally often out of things we say to each other. Similarly, over half the quotes in AA have no basis in literature.
So: It's a slogan because it comforts people and they have latched onto it. It's a self-help program where people support each other. It has more to it than just reviewing literature.
That is some ones solution to Letting go and letting God take care of them , some say place them in the hand of God and let go . I always forgot that the person suffering from this disease had a Higher Power too and HP will take them where they need to go . Just my opinion . Louise
With my Higher Power's Help, I will keep a loving blanket of detachment with me. I will cover my loved ones with it, whether or not they struggle with a disease. Keeping in mind that when I am dealing with the other human beings, I am dealing with children of God.
