Hi - It's Robin, I am at work. I found some new ways to advertise and find mystery shoppers for our company. My co worker followed through by placing an ad in a Thrifty Nickel. I heard the owner say, "Don't hold your breath". This makes me angry. I am looking at my 4th step again. One of my defects is that I do not feel like I am good enough to have a job with a successful company. I am afraid of moving to a new job. I am working through this fear !!!! Any ESH is much appreciated.
Dear Robin ,coming up with a creative solution for your company is certainly the sign of a dedicated, intelligent worthy employee that any company would be glad to have as a staff member. Please list all your assets so that you will see how valuable you are in this world.
I will start you off you are :
an intelligent, well spoken, creative, intuitive woman who can multitask and be a supportive team player in the workforce.
Wow and thank you. I have to think about the assets but will come back with them. Something to definately take my mind off the negative talk in the office. :)
Hi my name is Robin and I am a valuable employee. I am intelligent, smart, forward thinking, positive and dedicated employee. I think outside the box every day to help improve business. I constantly look for ways to improve processes.
This is something to think about when negative people are doing their best to rain on your parade. So remember this story the next time .
A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome with her husband..
She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded: " Rome ? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty. You're crazy to go to Rome . So, how are you getting there?"
"We're taking Continental," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"
"Continental?" exclaimed the hairdresser. "That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome ?"
"We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome 'sTiber River called Teste."
"Don't go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks it's going to be something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump."
"We're going to go to see the Vatican and maybe get to see the Pope."
"That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it."
A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome ..
"It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not only were we on time in one of Continental's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot.. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner's suite at no extra charge!"
"Well," muttered the hairdresser, "that's all well and good, but I know you didn't get to see the Pope."
"Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican , a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me.."
"Oh, really! What'd he say?"
He said: "Who f*ck'd up your hair?"

Betty said that same thing to me a year back and I will never forget it. Assets Cathy write down your assets. I do it all the time when I feel inadequate about something or I'm feeling down. Helps bring you right out of it.

I did this until i wrote a list of all my assets...sorta the "plus" part of step 4....THEN asked my IC (inner child) why we were still here (the sucky job) ....with me, I have to work..so walking w/out another job in the wings is not smart in this economy however, i would still stall (re: looking) b/c I was afraid that I would find out i was really smart and really talented adn thus proving the "right on" parents that they were WRONG.....
with practice, I have overcome this false identifying with myself and my true worth.....

I love the ESH here and confidence is so something I am working on within myself right now. I keep telling myself that I am worthy and capable of more that I can even imagine and now I do believe it and am proving it to myself. Sending you love and support!
