the movie 'Thanks for sharing'

I stumbled over a movie by coincidence (or faith) last night ..'' 'Thanks for sharing' with Tim Robbins, Gwyneth Paltrow et al.

very interesting to see life's stories in a movie, not overdone, not exaggerated, not minimized. I found it interesting to feel both sides of the streets in a more detached way. It's mainly about sex addicts, but it  generally tackles the issue ADDICTION..and the role everybody plays. The importance of the rooms in recovery is also made very clear.

AND.. watching this means to me, that we were both probably more 'human', than I thought we were when I was in the full effects of the disease. I came to understood what could have been different in our story if we both had worked a program. it's a pity he doesn't May HP guide us both.

in gratitude and compassion a little bit more than before.

I believe that "Listening and Learning at alanon meetings, as well as working the Steps, with a sponsor enabled me to discover my part in the madness of my relationships. By so doing, I also cleared up the wreckage of the past, and developed healthy tools to live by in the future,

Compassion, empathy , understanding are all part of re- gaining my true self and learning how not to react but to act in my own best interest.

I do hope you have found a home group and are attending meetings ,

Sounds like it would be a good movie.  Where did you see it?  Netflix, YouTube?  DVD?

hotrod thank you, but unfortunately still not living in a place with meetings. But i devour literature and work a lot on my healing, and seeing a therapist, and working a lot on behavioral change. in future, when i move away from here, i will definitely look into finding a home group until then, no day is wasted in learning through the steps. i start liking the journey. and MIP has ben a life saver in several occasions.

John, i saw it on DVD, for in this country we get new movies only through copies I'm afraid to say. no idea when it is out in US. check it out here :
