It's bigger on the bottom!

lol. Well, it's a bit sad but it gave us a lot of laughs. Gluten-free-edible-tardis-like-blob.

That Tardis looks like it actually would be bigger on the inside than the outside! And now that I see the picture I'm afraid to ever look away and have that angel move closer!!

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Happy day to you. By the way - what in the world is a tardis?

Part of growing up with Dutch traditions when a birthday is celebrated we not only congratulate the person on their birthday but others as well. So in English congratulations with your daughters Birthday!

G2B: a Tardis is Doctor Who's time machine. It's modeled on the old British "police" boxes from the 50s and 60s. This was a mini-police station in case of emergency, or access to a phone in an emergency where the public could call the police. I grew up in England in the 70s and 80s and don't think I ever saw one of those except for on Dr. Who, which has been going since 1963.

First of all the cake is amazing and I am sure will be a fun memory for your daughter. Second, grateful we must be bigger nerds than you because all I can think is how can you not know who Dr Who is lol. Love you both.

I know the Guess Who (Who became the Who) but not Dr. Who. I'm sorry, Melly. Until MM said the tardis was a cake, I didn't know!!!!! I am so out of the loop and that is spectacular!!!!!! What a creative soul that you are and a loving one, too! And I researched Dr. Who now.  No wonder I couldn't figure out what folks were talking about.  It's a BBC production.  Now, I'll know t some degree what folks are referring to.  Thanks.

Ok I did not know what a tardis was either and was it Horton hears a Who? So I mixed that up too!

Plus I saw this and thought ok what is that? I thought it was one of those knee pads you kneel onwhen you garden, then it was sitting in water with a weird angel and something holding rolls of toilet paper?

Man was I off! I realized it is the top of a table, wondered how those stemmed glasses were floating....then read that blue thing is a cake, Dr.Who's time machine? then a police's telephone?

Ok I am totally confused, all I know is you are a nutcase! lol hugs hugs!Your daughter must love you tons!

Not only is it a time machine, it is much larger inside than outside. The control room with all the knobs and lever and thingies to drive it is probably 10-20 times the size that it looks like from the outside. But it is also connected to more machine through a hallway, I think the size there is approximately infinite.

The Angel is from a particularly creepy episode about angels that look like they are made of stone, but when you turn away and don't look at them they move closer, until they kill you.

Melly, we are now talking about making some Daleks cupcakes in our house due to your inspiration. Thanks

Exterminate!!

The Guess Who are a completely different band from The Who. The Guess Who are Canadian and The Who are English.

Yeah. Dr. Who is a TV show.

Well, I liked all the Whos even though I didn't know Who was Who or Who wasn't Who unless Horton heard them, too? Who knew there was a Dr. Who? I didn't until today. Again, who knew? Some knew but I didn't know who knew any of the Whos.

LOL. I liked them all too! I loved the Guess Who's lead singer's voice. I think he passed away young though.

Who's on first?

I though Guess Who was a board game by Milton Bradley, where one asks a series of questions with a view to eliminating suspects until the "culprit" is uncovered. "You'll flip over guess who", or so they say on the ad.

OOoooooooooooooooooooooooooh. Well, then there are two types of Guess Whos. 1 you rock to and 1 you flip over! Now, besides Dr. Who and Guess Who not being The Who, there is also yet another Guess Who that one can find in a box to flip! I have learned so much today. Thank you, Ms Melly.

Darling daughter picture! Thank you, Melly. I love that you let her have fun in life without squelching her natural bent towards spontaneous and creative flow!

And likemyheart, I had just figured out a bit of this Dr Who stuff and now, once again, I haven't the foggiest notion of what six degrees of separation - all things lead to Dr. Who - is about. I guess one just had and has to be there.

lol - there is a movie called Six Degrees of Separation, can't recall if I've seen it but I think the premise was that you can name an actor and you can name movies or actors that will eventually link to Kevin Bacon - linking one actor with another in different films, that in under six moves you come to Kevin Bacon. In talking with friends and family and even on here, I am surprised at how far reaching television shows can be. Finding other Who fans, in sometimes surprising places. This is an Al-Anon website where we are focused on ourselves, embroiled in understanding alcoholism and achieving serenity with or without the alcoholic in our lives, what is Dr. Who doing here? Melly's daughter's cake reminds me that as big as the world seems, as far away as she lives from my neck of the woods, we have other things besides dealing with addiction in common - that we have so much MORE in common than just our life with an A. all things serve the beam! (reference to yet another common like amongst different people in my life!)

Love your share on this, lmh. To me, our being together sharing things to include laughter - is part of the recovery work we all do - and signs of the recovery promises if we work the program. Thanks for the explanation of Six Degrees of Separation. Didn't know anything bout that nuther.
