Anyone with experience with Family Group at Right Step Treatment Facility?

My husband is fixing to get out of Rehab at the Right Step Treatment Facility. He has not spoke to me untill last week to tell me that he will be coming home soon. That's literally all he said. Then 30 Sec to tell me to pick him up Tues at 11:30. During that 30 sec I some how convinced him to let me come to the last family counseling session.  Does anyone know what to expect and do I need to bring anything?

I don't know specifically about that facility, but typically you won't need to bring anything but an open mind and ears. Typically you will go through something a little bit like an Al Anon meeting where they may ask everyone to sum up why you are there, and if you have any questions about the process that is happening. There might be education on Al Anons program, AA program, addiction in general.

I hear the frustration in your post. If you can go to an Al Anon meeting you will find a number of people the have amazingly similar experiences to yours. Also this board and inline meetings are good. Taking care of yourself will be important as your AH comes home, and so will understanding of what to expect and ideas on how to handle situations.

Peace
Kenny

Thanks Kenny,

Ive been going at least once a week to meetings and did one online tonight. Yes I do have frustration. I've had a real bad day. I found out that my husband doesn't qualify for the disability insurance that we pay for threw my husbands union. Plus I thought I had hid enough money to make it threw Rehab but didn't. So once again we are broke. yeah I'm trying to get it all out before tomorrow because that wont help at all.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Yeah, I've had some insurance challenges too, it certainly just increases the stress. Sorry. Feel free to keep venting, Lord knows I do enough if it here!

I hope the session goes well, it's great that you want to go, some folks go into inpatient and their family is happy because they know the A will come back "cured", you are trying to make the effort, that's great.

Keep coming back!
