A day in Al-Anon

We celebrate this annually on the Big Island.  The west side of the island and the east side meet center distance in the village of Waimea and we introduce ourselves and others and have discussions on topics and a special speaker, this time it was Tom our World Service Rep and we snack and eat and hug and listen and learn from each other.  I was enthrawled because of the new members  was this sprite of a teenage who attends Al-Anon because there are no active Alateen meetings on the west side and therefore she is a qualified Al-Anon member.   The number of new members in relationship to the old timers (love these old timers!!) was very good and so we're getting program out there...Yay!!    Just after the news announced that the country has a large drinking problem...you think?  Who knew?  (sarcasm of course...heh heh).  Anyhow...success.  We had to do 60 miles each way to do it and it was well worth it.  Wish you all had been there too.   ((((hugs)))) smile

That sound great, so glad that young people are attending. My young daughter, 22, came to a meeting with me yesterday and actually told me she has attended on her own as well, dont know if she will continue but at least she knows its there for her. Wish I had been there too Jerry.x
