So after freaking my kiddo out by all of the contact again .. we are back to no contact and I'm ok with that at this point. Honestly so is she. She doesn't trust his motives and neither do I. The therapist says it's better for her not to have contact with him at this point. So I'm taking her at her advice and pursing what I need to do to protect my daughter .. I may not need to because he did his peek a boo and now he's gone again.
He may realize that he shouldn't be contacting her for her own mental health ... although who am I kidding that's to much about someone else. So no contact for the New Year, .. so sad. On a positive note at least the Cities Finest weren't calling to let me know he was in the looney bin. That was the last time we had a sleep over and I about was vomiting wondering if I should call the Sheriff or parents to get their kids. Thankfully he was safe and so were we.
The sleep over had NO drama .. it was a lot of fun and this is the sleep over that we do every year for the kids .. it was smaller this year .. I'm way ok with that .. it was so much fun and I woke up to giggling teens at 530am .. LOL! I slept in the living room with the boys we all fell asleep watching a movie. I forget how silly kids are and it was just nice to laugh until we hurt. The things they do .. and I was horrified and fascinated at the same time .. LOL! I was informed I'm a cool mom by the other 9 year old boy because I know about all the cool video games .. LOL .. if only I could make a living at acting like I'm 13 I'd be set! There was yelling at the TV, yelling at other electrical devices talking about music. The teens are fascinated with my knowledge of David Bowie and other 80's icons. LOL .. they can't believe that I used to be their age once .. and I would never go back!! Once was enough .. big time. Now if I could be cool mom and know how to get down and clean the house .. geeze .. LOL .. it's better than it has been so that's a good thing.
We hung out on the first day until after 330pm and did nothing! It was fun and nice. Now back to reality and hopefully I will hear from my atty at some point so much for finding out about the settlement she was getting right on .. bother .. I swear .. and yes .. you just read an eyeball roll in there.
Trying to focus on doing the next right thing, tonight I will be reading my lit and a few other things .. I need to get back into my getting them sober books. Thanks for reading thus far ..

Great share and glad you are having fun. I too need to dig into The Getting Them Sober books again and some Codependent No More wouldn't hurt, need to dive back into my program and let go of what I can not control. Sending you love and support on your journey!

So glad you had a great time! I sure miss that jolt of kid sometimes. At least until I had to re assert authority and then I was no longer "cool." Unfortunately I was filling them in on the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix--now there's a cautionary tale if ever there was one. I you ever figure out how to make a living as a 13 yo, let me know (no cant pull that off anymore).

ohh good ole melodie beattie....soon as i am done with this 12 steps for re-parenting, I am gonna re-do, beattie's 12 steps for codas...that was one of the best books....

g2b--when I saw your new quote under the waves, I could actually "hear" the silence of the sea. I am a water creature who got stranded in a desert then moved to a mountaintop. But I still miss the ocean. Always will. It can teach the arrogant quiet and the proud, humility.
Well, heard from victim services and the girl and I are headed in on Tuesday. So I will get prepared to bring in texts, more paperwork and back up as far as that all goes. I can't remember what I have already given them. So we will see what is going on and what the state thinks they will do going forward. Hugs ..
