weather

My part of the world has saw rain and grey skies every day for what seems like weeks now, today though its dry and bright, no blue in the sky mind you but a huge difference. Everything seems clearer.

The weather makes me think of nature and the part my higher power plays for me. I mean its like the daily reminder that I am not in control. I can only see a tiny part of the whole story. Through my job I do know a little bit about the bigger picture, I know that I live in an area of low pressure meaning rain is the dominant type of weather but occassionally the winds change and we get snow or heat and clear skies.  I think the weather is a metaphor for our whole lives, we dont know the bigger picture for anyone including ourselves, we dont know whats coming round the corner so it makes much more sense to let go of the illusion of control and just go with it, trusting that all is as it should be, theres no real need to run around trying to control our world, scurrying about trying so hard to shape the world into something that we want, its useless and can never be, so I suppose its about accepting things as they are and living by what is rather than what we want.

We cant control the weather, wishing it isndifferent wont change it so we might as well accept it and make the best of it.x

Good Share el cee

I do know what the weather will bring in the coming months. Hot and dry but I can pray for more monsoon's to bring the cooling rain. BUT monsoon's also bring the high winds that brings the haboob's and much destructive lighting.

We are not in control and have to deal with it when it comes and accept.

(((el-cee)))...right on and thanks for the lesson that I have choices based upon the outcomes I want.  If I want to stand out in the rain I can't do that now; it passed yesterday.  Do I want to stand out in the cold clear morning or sit inside in the warmth?   Perspectives and choices help me to arrive at the consequences I want and/or need.  Yes it rained hard for 24 hours yesterday and there were streams of rain water rushing down the roads and over the lawn and into the ocean...my part?  I chose to travel thru it at times to do service to others and I chose to stay inside staying dry even though the rain penetrated the roof and I chose to keep company with my wife as we let it the storm pass, and spoke of greater things like the gift of children's voices singing amazingly beautiful and of other beautiful and happy things in our life.   Choices...we all have those.   Thanks for the share.   (((hugs))) smile

Thanks for the reminder El-cee.

My mother, who I miss so much at this time of year, always used to say 'we can't control the weather' and one of the things I love about weather is its changeability and the fact that there is usually something beautiful in every face it shows (although it is so easy to forget that sometimes!). I love that the weather is out of my control and that the wind blows cobwebs away. I love raindrops on the window panes (mum called them diamonds and used to bet on which drop would race down to the window sill first!). It goes without saying that I love the sunshine, especially if there is a breeze in the air. Today my part of the world is misty and still - the trees are blue sketches of their former selves and my house is warm and golden - so guess where I'm staying today!
