If you don't want to listen to a rant just close this now. I will understand completely

 

I feel like I have fallen into a vat of super negatively. I am taking care of my mother while she is in the hospital. She is thee most negative person I have ever met in my entire life. She is ACOA and has some psych issues. Over the last couple years I have distanced myself from her and set boundaries with her. If she was not so pathetic it would be almost comical. 

"My leg itches, will you scratch it?"

"Those nurse dont know S..."

Did you call ............. about a.................?

"When is my pain medicine due again?"

My back itches

I need a cold washrag

"What time is it?"

"Is it time to eat yet?"

I need some ice

Did you order my dinner?

When did they say dinner would come?

 

All within 15 minutes. After I ordered her dinner I told her I was not getting up for 30 minutes. As soon as her dinner arrives I am going to take a sanity break. 

 

Side note: I remember my sisters teasing me when I was little about them finding me under a rock. I was relieved then thinking "thank God". We are all crazy, but some are further along on the crazy scale.

Sounds like you need a break and some time for yourself, go for a long, hot bath, take headphones, tune into some music or an audio book. Can you leave her for a while or set up some other care for her for a while.x

I feel for you..... I have experienced a few of those things with my son when he's been in the hospital and he's a young man

Crazy to me is living in a "that was the day" or "someday my prince will come" or "what if" mentality. Sounds to me as if you're right there, right now and present to your Mom who likes to voice her wants and needs. Can you take a break BEFORE dinner arrives? You might be able to avoid - "Honey, will you take the lid off my coffee? Where's my napkin? Oh! You ordered chicken???????!!!! I wanted the grilled cheese. Yes, I know I'm supposed to have more protein than carbs, but I don't like chicken. Please go down to the cafeteria and get me something else. I can't eat this?" (((T)))

I took a mental health break and commiserated with a fellow family member.

 

Oh and you were so right about dinner.

I ordered the wrong thing, and then I was not here to cut it up. :)

So looking forward to my meeting this evening. :)

Counting my blessing:

I have a cot

I have a wonderful skyline to look out the window

I have pepsi :)

I have internet :)
