From Moku Keawe

...the Big Island of Hawaii anchored in the Pacific Ocean.  Mele Kalikimaka e Hauoli Makahiki Ho...Of course there's no fooling any of you  because you know that is Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year said from the center of my spirit with love.  I have everything I need with my peace of mind and serenity which is today, all I really want.  The extras are very pleasant for which I am also grateful.  One of the extras in my life for which I daily Mahalo Akua (thank God) for is this family...my MIP Ohana...who have helped me and helped me to help myself and given me the opportunity to help back.  I am forever grateful (Mahalo Akua o ke Keoni)  Thank you God for John and his desire and drive which he put on this medium.  Are we not bless to have found this Oasis and come together to help and support each other.  Amazing that I know very little to nothing about how you appear physically and yet am so familiar with your spirits and your hearts.   My spouse and I will be trekking down to a small island shortly.  Moku Ola hangs just off the coast of Hilo and we will reach it by short bridge.  In the days of our ancestors this was an island of refuge...safety and it was also were the placenta from births were buried to keep the spirit of the child safe from harm.  Spiritually overwhelming and for today I will pray for all and all of MIP that we have that safety ourselves.   A Hui Ho.   Jerry F

Mahalo for all of your Kokua...your help.  (((((hugs))))) smile

WOW, Jerry, Beautiful share....that was touching what you said about the baby placentas buried to keep the child safe from harm....

I loved reading your share, and you are so right....we don't know what each other really looks like, yea, some of us have pictures, and mine is me, but the important part is we know each other's hearts and spirits, as you say.........your posts are so full of love and wisdom....you, Jerry F, are OUR buried treasure here on MIP and i am sure in all the lives you touch in your journey through your life.....

Aright... this is a kind of national day as well... Kia ora ehoa... [greetings friend...] Nadolig Llawen [Welsh, my genetic culture... Merry Christmas]

yours it and language of host... since you were ahead of me... and I am guest, in the sense, but more than that- Whanau... part of a deep and wide extended family. And my location is Te Waka A Maui- the canoe of Maui. The name for the whole South Island.

Mere Kirihimete, Kirihimete Pai. Or Hakari a Te Karaiti ko Ihu [The Christ Mass....]

so much of the "way" I have towards our higher power is cast in the thoughts of Polynesia...

thanks friend- for being friend, and for being you....

For MIP and John, and y'all... Betty, te whaea, group mom...

I roto i te nga ingoa ko Papatuanuku, ko Ranginui hoki ta tatou matua...

aroha nui,

aroha roa,

-Da.

(((((((((((((Cathy)))))))))))))   WOW,  thanks for researching that....that was REALLY nice!!!!   Wado (thanks)     i was discouraged from even knowing the language existed....when i would go to reservation to visit my grandfather's brothers  (grandaddy had a house outside of the rez)  but i would listen to the elders speak and i would sit transfixed by their stories and legends and their wisdom.....i had to honor the "other half" of me in secret, becuz the offender was   1/2 fr. jew (he renounced that to his death)  and he was 1/2 german (which he admired hitler/nazis)   so yea, anything non aryan was beneath him....he was attracted to my mother's dark beauty and could not have her as his mistress so he married her and forced her to pass herself off as a french lady...she read and wrote french as many indians did, so people "bought it".......anyway, the truth is coming out through me and my A brother (the close one to me...)  and my cousins.....we don't need documents to prove what we are.....I had a expert examine my bones, facial configuration,  (she was a anthropologist and native american expert in "face recognition" or whtever it is called...her name is Brenda Walking bear and she is well known for her  ability to "spot" a native by their body configuration...anyway, she, a friend of my sister's examined me from my scalp down to my funny feet and said  "oh yea, the body and bones don't lie", LOL....she , now,  is in NE part of country and we facebook together....she is quite a gal....teaches native american history in schools and colleges, even.......

Well...I am an Italian living in Michigan and will simply say "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year".  I so enjoy the diversity and sameness we all share.

I am a Heinz 57 so no clue how to say Merry Christmas in Ketchup...... ! I really like not knowing how everyone looks because they/you could be the lady down the street struggling with her own issues, you know the one I mean, the one who seems to really appreciate it when I ask her how she is and commiserate with her about how tough life sometimes can be. NOT knowing how you actually look allows me to consider that you MIGHT be that guy or gal that I run into and consider as needing a friendly face/smile rather than an anonymous anyone because we might be walking in the same footprints and I KNOW if that person is someone here, they need a smile from me, maybe more than anything else. Happy Holidays!

Thank you Jerry, and I hope you all had a wonderful, peaceful day. I thought of this quote when I was reading all these shares, and how you said you didn't know our physical appearances, but you knew our hearts;)

What a great share and comments.... you all made me smile!!  As one said, I am a Heinz 57 and I don't know how to say Merry Christmas in Ketchup.... LOL!! As it was said, I don't physically know any of you... but I look for many of you here... and I feel that I know and understand as many can not.   My Christmas wish for the New Year is that we all find peace, serenity, and happiness in the next year to come!!  Merry Christmas My MIP family!

I'm about half German, wishing I lived on the big island! So: frohliche Weihnachten! (ein bischen spät)

Kenny

PS. Very impressive Cathy, it's even correct -I think!
