I am very hopeful today, despite my life repeating the same pattern the usual weekend breakup with the A and other problems I seem to be stuck in. Cathy in AZ said to me last week that things would change when I started to change. So after doing alot of thinking and praying, today I am going to take the bull by the horns and start changing. I am grateful and thank you for everyone here being so loving and kind. I was thinking this morning that people here give their time, thoughts, and love to complete strangers. And some of those people are living through really tough things, and they still care and love and support. So today I am grateful. And today I am committing to change.
Always remember you can't change them ever. They have to want it for them and not for you. This is the same for you. When your ready you will change. One day at a time one step at a time. 12 steps....take it slow and easy.
Looks at all the slogans there are. They do all have purpose and when you take them one at a time and think about them they will make sense.

Well, I got through the day without obsessing, prayed a lot, am going to go get pancakes with some old friends tonight even though I am not 100%, and even though parts of the day were a little more challenging not to backslide, I think I got through it. Let go, pray, accept the answer. I think I can make it through the rest of the day until I go to bed like this too, woohoo!
Not sure if you can make it to face to face al-anon meetings, online meetings or have any al-anon literature to read, those help as does having a sponsor, al-anon friends and coming here posting and focusing on yourself and the changes you can control within you. Sounds like you have a great start today. Sending you love and support on your journey!
