I've been feeling a bit disconnected recently. We live in a beautiful part of Italy and there really isn't anything wrong with life at the moment but it is sometimes a bit lonely here so I find myself feeling listless and unmotivated. It will pass. So despite the fact that I might not be good company today I thought that I should at least get a grip and reach out because I know that my MIP family can make me smile! I'm grateful to you all.
Hi, Milkwood: Since you live in a beautiful place in Italy, could you or would you be willing to send us a few photos of that location? We could share the beauty with you in that way. Maybe a few photos of the places and spaces that appeal to you and why? And...if Liam Neeson happens to be vacationing there, maybe a few thousand photos of him, too?
Thank you for the quest Grateful, as always just what I needed! I'm off to track down Liam Neeson. I maybe some time!! In the meantime here is a pic from earlier this week - enjoy - and wish you were here!
What a beautiful picture! Living in the desert in the Southwest USA you don't see much snow but we did get some this year in January. Here is a pic of a lake really close to my home. The funk will pass
Beautiful, yet bleak, too. Does remind me of a song I sang with my high school Glee Club - "In the bleak midwinter" or something like that. Of course, at 15, 16, 17, 18 - bleak was only a word and not yet an experience. I'd love to throw some red into that photo. Red birds, red lights, red holly berries, red bows, red boots, red hats, the former Pope's red shoes, red velvet cake(hey! we can put red velvet cake in the snow if we choose - its our photo :< ) Since you're going on a hunt for Liam, maybe you'll turn up some fun, colorful sights to see and people to observe? Thank you for inviting me into what you see from where you stand. (((MW)))

Thanks for the lovely picture and for connecting here when you felt lonely . The MIP family is a perfect family to reach out to when in need.
Grateful2b I agree "Liam Neelson" would be fantastic to look at
Cathy Thanks for your picture of the Desert. It too is special . I visited both Italy and Arizona in the last few years and loved them both.
Here is a picture of my Thanksgiving visit to the" NJ WTC Memorial " It was beautiful. The Eagle clutches a girder from the WTC in his tAlons. The names of all the people who were lost from NJ are carved in the stone and it overlooks the New "Freedom Tower" in the NY harbor. It is a special place.

This is so fun, MW. Thanks for starting the photo share! I don't know about you, but I'm loving the different looks at little corners of our world. And...I've asked my daughter for a Christmas gift that will help me link up photos from a camera phone to the board. You've all inspired me to wrestle with yet another technical advance in communication.
Ok, seriously you all are making me want to travel again! I've been to Italy, grew up in New Jersey, and now live in AZ close to Cathy, actually. I love what everyone has shared here. Milkwood, I understand how you feel but even though it seems bleak and desolate, it can be bleak and desolate for so many of us even if we live in crowded neighborhoods or busy cities. I have wonderful neighbors and lots of friends in program, but I sometimes feel very lonely. This is when I remember that God is always with me, no matter how I feel or where I am. HUGS!
Wow...I love this thread and I love these connections. I attended a women's advent gathering at a friends church on Monday eve, and as I sat looking at the 200 women gathered, holding advent candles and smiling in this community of women, I felt blessed by this connecting experience....and I feel blessed by this connecting experience. Isn't it cool that we are in different parts of the world and can have these friendly chats?
Grateful - how special you are. There I am trying to be down in the dumps you turn up and sprinkle stardust - just look at what you started! ((((Hugs)))))
Melly - I love your daughter's picture - those cliffs that look so high are just one little step up - how perfect!
Cathy - the contrast is amazing isn't it? I love lakes and had never imagined AZ to have a view like this. Thank you so much for sharing your part of the world.
Betty - what a lovely shot of your beautiful smile. The story is great perspective puller as well, a very special picture
ILD - I know just what you mean about being lonely in big cities, thank you for the reminder that we are never alone.
PP - I just stepped outside after seeing all your responses and I could feel the air buzzing with hugs and gleeful chatter. I love the connections and am feeling very blessed too.
You guys are awesome - funk vaporised by the power of MIP. It works!!!
And OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Liam!!! Liam!!!!!!!!!! Liam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an early Christmas gift. Thank you, Melly!!!!!! He is beautiful, isn't he? Lovely child of God, I'd say! Oops! Guys don't like being called beautiful or lovely or cute. Uhhhhhhhhm. Any other descriptive words for him - well...I'm not sure I can post them without blushing.
MW: You started this thread! You did this!!!! Isn't it fun? You put yourself out there and look what came back to you!!!!!! And we're having a great time together, too. (((MW)))
What a great thread ladies! I love the photos! I miss AZ, I moved from the Yuma area about 3 years ago and miss it terribly, especially in this cold, damp weather. Melly, I love your daughter's photo, what a wonderful eye she has for detail! Bet she got that from you ;)
All these places I've not seen yet...
MW, I may have to pay a visit to you soon! Lol!
Enoyed seeing everyone's pictures from their corner of the world and I wanna play too! This will be the scene Friday night on Court Square at our (Shenandoah Valley of Virginia) Christmas Parade.

Please!!!!! PC!!!!!!!! It's bad enough that he has a girlfriend. Now, you're threatening to turn him, too????? We can't even locate him. I've asked el cee to track him down in Scotland and MC to look for him in Italy. Help us, brother! Don't do what you're threatening if you find him. Just please give him this website and tell him he has a very healthy, mature group of women here who would love to make his acquaintance. Besides! You're engaged!!!!!!!!

Raven - you would be more than welcome. Lori - I'm in a region called Le Marche, to the east of Umbria - the mountains that our home faces are the Sibilini.
Those shire horses are spectacular MrsFixIt, so glad you came to join our games.
Elcee - my heart swells at the sight of Scotland, always so beautiful. I hope you are not getting too battered by the high winds today. Stay safe.
