growing up in alanon

OK, so I can't have Thanksgiving dinner with my son and his family because they are eating with his in-laws this year.  I was just writing to my sponsor.  Yes, I can choose to have a pity party, poor me, and a big boo hoo.  Life is so unfair!  And then my alanon brain kicked  in and I am so lucky to have a son I am getting along with much better than prior to program.  I get to see my granddtr almost once a week, and I really having nothing to complain about in this dept.  So grow up, be grateful, act like a mature person, don't give him any guilt, don't feel  bad, and enjoy life.  I have many blessings.  Today is fine.  Thank you alanon, Lyne

(((( Lyne ))))

I'm just amazed just how far you have come in this program and in such a short time. I'm truly grateful to be around so many good people that gives me hope. I am thinking about not having Thanksgiving with my son but it's because I can't/won't whatever. I do feel bad though. I need to let go because it is what it is. I can pray for better times down the road.

Thank you my friend.....you inspire me to do better.

Lyne, big HUGS!!

Recovery's gift has been the kick in the pants that holy cow you mean I really am a grown up?! You mean my inner 6 year old doesn't run the show? WHY!? LOL!!

I love the fact that this program allows me to progress as I need to and I am grateful for that .. the blessings big and small come as they need to and the more open I am the more blessings come. Don't know if you have considered having Tday a little later in the week .. as a special family dinner? That's what I've done in the past with so much family and the fact I like to cook turkey! It's fun to put on that kind of spread!

It was called the post Thanksgiving day!

Hugs S :)

I agree with the other posters, Lyne. It feels so good to me to see you living life on life's terms and finding reasons to be grateful in it. Good program reminder. Thanks, Lyne.
