Leaf Blowing....

This is about seeing the humor in things rather than  the critizism.   I have a business and one of my clients is a small hotel in Hilo.  My office is it's gardens and property and I am beyond blessed.  Sometimes the blessing are humor which comes in strange confusing ways.   I was clearing the leaves out of the parking lot this afternoon and a couple in a black Chevy convertible with the top down drove into the entract of the parking lot surveying their options.  The parking lot was mostly empty including the one space I was blowing leaves from.  The blower is loud and the leaves are flying and I am standing in the middle of it and the tourist driver has about 20 spaces to park in and then...he drives right into my space and flying leaves and dust and stuff and I start to laugh and shake my head cause that is the most I allow myself to do.  I'm not going to stop my work and move out of my space cause its my business and I laugh.  The top is down and he gets out of the car and now walks into and through the chaos and noise.  I'm no longer surprised you see because this isn't an isolated incident.  His wife sits in the open convertible and pulls out her smart phone and starts running aps.  This is not a young couple.  I regain my composure and continue my work and get out of the atmosphere because it could be catching.  I think..."Wonder if he/they drink alot" and then dismiss the thought as being too prejudiced and move on.   He comes back to the car, she gets out and he proceeds to park in the next spot I am going to clean...leaf blow.  Oh well....I'm responsible for cleaning the lot.  They are responsible for where they park their car and God is responsible for holding the lantern before my footsteps.  I blew the dust off of the Chevy and was done.   Serenity Prayer event huh?

(((((hugs))))) smile

Could be two angels out for a drive. I hear tell they don't notice dust or flying leaves. They just like to see what humans will do when they drive through their "blower" area.

And from what I could read in your story, Jerry, you did an awesome job of showing them the best in humans. You even blew the dust off their car!

That's funny- some people have such affinity for being where the action is no matter what! I also loved how you blew the dust off the car.

Jerry this made me laugh and also reminded me of a day when i was working with the ABF at his mowing job...he insisted that I blow the excess lawn-clippings in a certain direction down the street-into the wind mind you- and no matter what I said he insisted that it had to be that way...so I stood there for ages blowing grass only to have it blow right back at me; I was covered in grass and all the while I was giggling like a lunatic and singing "Blowin in the Wind" hehehe...thanks for the laugh!!

David I do study them and often have to so that I know which way to move to either evade or to greet.  Other times the Aloha is mutual and a study it is still.   Yes you know also.   smile

Melly I laugh at the picture you paint...cause at times that seems to be "just how it is" until I say "Okay done".  There is a way to defeat a mild head wind and not a healthy blower.   Point the blow tube a couple feet "above" the leaves or grass and it creates a vacuum that keeps the chaff down at the grown.  It still will take more time than if the wind isn't against you.   (((hugs))) smile

I used to get grouchy when the landscapers at my office always managed to blow dust into my car. I leave my windows cracked during the day since it gets hot outside.

Then one day a genius thought dawned on me...

Just roll up my windows the day the landscapers are here.

Ta-daa! No more leaves and dust inside my car. Whodathunkit?

Program allows me to look thru a different pair of eyes and make better choices based upon better rules.  Today I was singing "If I ruled the world..."   It is not a song listed under "Powerless" titles and I had a laugh anyway entertaining the "If".   It's a good voice practice song though...Just think..."If I ruled the world"....what would you all do then..LOL   ((((hugs)))) smile

Well, if you ruled the world, every day would be the first day of spring, Jerry. Hugs back to you and thanks for this day's grin, too.
