Oh my gosh! This year I had to deal with conflict inside of my group. I was a big part of that! I wasn't the cause though. I would describe it as 'growing pains'.
Yesterday we had our area business meeting. It was hosted in my own community... we did have a major crisis, which I won't name, of course!
But I was not a principal in it, thankfully... being the host group I was able to steer ourselves through the process... and of course the background this year in my own group kept me humble...
...in this neck of the woods the groups are tiny. Our breadth of experience is limited. So having an online meeting here is really great!
Ok, right, so this meeting is not a hotline to WSO. Oh, no- its just another group. But is has the advantage of drawing on members from all over the world- a huge catchment. It has the strength of collective wisdom...
for me it is an outrigger to my canoe- give me balance, and poise.
...as well as a conference, I feel that Alanon, and perhaps AA, and others, should form a networking academy- to talk about common issues and concerns... ...this idea works for me at group level, and, to be honest, with me myself, my own growth and recovery- and that is where is counts!
It is so great when we can apply our principles everywhere and navigate more easily through the rough waters..just thought I would continue with the theme Thanks, David.
