Just a short reflection: My step-mom passed away 2 years ago yesterday. I forgot to mention it in my last post. I put her photo on Facebook. She is on my mind today as well. It hurts a lot because my mom who is still alive is slipping from me.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother 19 years ago last April (miss her like crazy) my father remarried 9 months after her death. I was heart broken for many reasons. Shortly after my daughter was born I was informed that she (my step mother) was not the kind of grandma to spend time with the kids.
Coming into Al-Anon I really only had my daughter and me, but, I can say that slowly I'm finding people that I love (more than my real family) and are a big part of my life. I hope this helps.

Loss is so tough and those anniversaries bring up the sadness. You are right there are times the pain is right there even when time has passed. Hugs, hope it will get better soon.
