Read it! :)

On page of 125 with courage to change, not an easy read for me and I dont really care for it.. This may or not be the best thing, switching gears, but I put down that book and started Getting them sober.  What an awesome awesome book.  Only on page 100 but brilliant! I will have to get back to courage to change because I wont give up and will follow through. Just feeling the need to read something I can relate and get something from and this one give me that.  I will probably finish it tonight . Just because I can LOL

I am SURE all have read it, but please read Getting them sober if you have not yet.

Courage to Change works best for me when I take the reading for the day and reflect on it.  Sometimes I will just open the book to see where I land and then reflect on that reading.  And other times I will look for a reading on a particular topic.

Thanks Paula....... I know I want to finish it but maybe I can do it as you stated and try it that way. It will take me longer to get through this book just because I find it a hard read. So, maybe I will read a couple chapters a week and still read my other books that I am enjoying and is helping. :)

Courage to Change and One Day at a Time are daily readers. You can't read it all and reflect on it in a good way. Try just reading that days page and think about it and not try and read it all.

If I tried to read it like a book, I would probably end up at AA in a short period of time

For me courage to Change is not really a book to be read all at once. The daily readings are enough to think about and focus on each day, its all a bit much all together. I liked getting them sober as a book to read all at once.x

Ya - I am seeing that!! Maybe I should have known that, I don't know........ Great advise from all. I am def going to take it more as a daily read. And stick to my other books that keep me interested. Well, I wouldn't consider his disease interesting, but you know what I mean :)

I read getting them sober first. Then I read ODAT and C2C on the daily read. I also use the 2 AlAnon books if I want help on a particular topic. Trouble is, I usually am so frazzled at that point that I can't put words to what topic I want. LOL. So I just start to read and let the HP roll the words through my brain.
