Hi all,

Been busy with meeting and living the al anon programme.

Just wanted to shrae my news my 20 year old son and his 25 year old girlfriend ( child of an active A) of 18 months are expecting a baby.

I have experienced a range of emotions from total excitement I would love to be a nannie to Fear, sadness and worry.

Then after I was crazy for a whileI applied my al anon,

I prayed your will not mine

I went to a meeting and looked at what is my responsibility

if she has a successful pregnancy then it must be hps will that this new little spirit be here.

children are so precious I am grateful.

My sickness wants to project all the terrible outcomes, but my al anon is saying one day at a time.

so a new challenge and a whole new set of lessons, but it will all be fine because i have my hp and al anon hugs tracy xxx

When I knew I had a grandson coming into the world - I wasn't happy.  I walked the floors of my house when I learned the news saying, "Oh, no.  Oh, no."  I went through all the emotions you are going through right now. Then, I realized I had two choices to make. One was to fight the reality that was mine - I was going to be a Nana. The other was to accept the reality that was mine - I was going to be a Nana.  I decided to accept it and have felt primarily joy for 14 years in relationship to this grandson of mine. I can't think of a more wonderful thing to have happened to me than my grandson. He might not have come in the ways I would have like - when I would have liked. Didn't matter. He's here. I think most grandparents will say the same thing. "They're here!!! What a joy!!!!!!!! Thank you, HP!!!!!!!!!"
