Serenity Moment

My quick must share beautiful moment son had regarding serenity

having been an alcoholic and an addict for nearly half of his life
he finally made it to rehab
    nearly two years ago now
and is studying to be a counselor, kid you not
well he finally got a job in a rehab while he finishes his school
and the blessings just keep coming
he shared with me that the night before last
after having heard many wonderful comments from co workers and how pleased they are      and how well he works with new guys coming out of prison and the such
he walked outside into the night air for just a moment
and said an out loud prayer
thanking God for leading him to this place in his life
and giving him his life back
and allowing him to be the husband, father and finding the job he knows he was put here

    to do
    into the night air
he then smiled and said one last thing
I know you're out there and you can hear me
if you could just give a sign that would be great
    a shooting star anything
ok, then after a moment he went back into work
and on his next time stepping outside for a quick smoke or last break before dawn
there it was the brightest he said, Oh Mom it was not only a shooting star
it was the brightest one I've ever seen
    and it went on forever
as if to say, I'm here
    I hear you my child
    thank you for giving thanks
and know everything will come in my time son not yours.
talk about a serenity/ goose bump moment

Gosh....I never got a bright shooting star.  Got lots of other stuff and never a star.  I did get a job as a rehab counselor though and that was great all around; a mega-blessing to me from HP.  Happy he and his journey is being put to use to help others.   HP works in mysterious ways...Yay!!  ((((hugs)))) smile

How great is that..... Thank you Peggy for the encouraging words that someday our sons might see that sign.

Congratulations to your son on his sobriety and new job.  It definitely gives me hope as a family member of an alcoholic who is still out there using to hear positive shares like this.  Thanks for the wonderful news!   TT
