grateful

Not feeling lonely is very normal. It sounds to me as if you are getting in touch with your HP and reconnecting with yourself? If so, good for you. When I first separated from my abusive husband, I didn't feel lonely either. I felt joyful. I was free. You are free, too!!!!! Keep going with whatever you've been doing. It's working, joker.

It's been 4 months now since I have seen my alcoholic ex-bf, that was violent toward me. He remains in jail for abusing me. I am today, so grateful to be free of the insanity. I am now living alone and loving each day and I feel no sense of lonlyiness. Is that normal? I do not feel the need for another relationship, or the need to date. I feel complete. I have been in therapy and that has helped me a lot. I feel like a different person, stronger and happier. I have been reading the message board and that helps me a lot.  I am just so grateful for all the messages of hope. I am still a work in progress and have work to do on me. I am learning to keep the focus on me and me only!

It sounds like you are in a good place- serenity. When I was in similar circumstances, I felt a tremendous sense of relief. Keep coming back and working the program!

I am glad you are here. I have been divorced 2 years from the exAH and I dated at first, but am now serene alone and more able to do all that I want to do. I have school, work and my kids to keep me more than busy, on top of the fact I like to work out and have hobbies I like to do alone. So not feeling like a lonesome lonley loner is new to me not being in a relationship, but feeling whole is priceless! Thank God for al-anon!!! Great post!
