Yesterday was a tough day for me and I spent most of it praying for guidance and help for my son. Late this morning he called me to tell me that he had good news - his unemployment was finally approved and he received a call about a job he applied for. Then he told me something he thought was strange - yesterday he was feeling down but when he woke up this morning, he felt really good! Like he didn't have a care in the world. Now this was prior to him learning the news about unemployment and job interview.

I know this is his HP at work. No one could convince me otherwise.

The other thing - his roommate (who left the rooming house yesterday) had stolen my son's computer. Even that didn't put a damper on how good he was feeling.

I attribute this to all your prayers.  Thank you everyone.

Dear Rose

Thank you so very much for sharing this beautiful story  I too know HP was at work there.   .

 Years ago My son had a very similar situation.   I told him to pray about it and ask Hp for the job--he laughed and hung up.  A few hours alter he called all excited-- He had prayed asked for the job he wanted and they called and he had the job

Wonderful to know how well your son is feeling  despite loosing his computer.   I will keep him in my prayers.

Rose,

So glad your son is having a good day!

Your posts sound like you care very little for yourself, that if your son is having a good day then you will have a good day.

Your life depends on how your son's life is going. Try to get the focus off your son and your expectations of him.

If You continue on the path your traveling, your life will be a continual rollercoaster of ups and downs.

Alanon works if you work it and part of the practice is not being dependent on the alcoholics whims.

You hit the nail on the head, Bettina. I find it very difficult to enjoy my life if one of my children is hurting. I know I should be more focused on my own life, but it's hard.

One of my dear friends once quoted this: "You are only as happy as your unhappiest child". This is true of me. I'm making progress but it's slow going.

 Hey Rose, I never believed much in prayer except for guidance, maybe  and like the Serenity prayer is the only one I think MAY work,   but JUST IN CASE.....I do pray by sending my fellows  comfort or love or healing if they are sick, or whatever their need is......I am SO glad u got this good news......Congratulations to son for getting his job....:)  :)  :)
