Hi Family

Hi my wonderful MIP family..I have not been posting for some time, been ploughing my way through a depression but the clouds seem a little lighter now. The friendship, the wisdom, the tools, the ES&H I was given here have sustained me through dark days, without them I would have been undone. It works if I work it J

I see the disease has brought many new members to the board and that they too are now benefitting from the same wonderful ES&H I was so generously given when I reached out in pain..to them I say keep coming back.

For those who don't know me on here, my son was afflicted by the disease, it killed him in the end.

My grand-daughter has an alcoholic father, (he doesn't live with her and my daughter, they are divorced) she is six now and beginning to question.I need to creak open the lid of my tool box.

Hope to be of service

Much love

Ness xx

Aloha Ness...good to have you back home for as long as you'll be here.  There is hope for your Grand-daughter as she had a grand-mother who knows the disease and how to live happily whether the alcoholic is drinking or not.    The youngsters get it faster than I did and the only thing I could figure out why they did was that they did not have the longer amount of time we had in the crazies, crises, and chaos.  (((((hugs))))) smile

Hi, Ness. I don't think I've met you yet. Started MIP in December, 2012. Glad you're here. I'm grateful2be. I have a son with this disease who will be 38 this month. We have recovery in common. I was introduced to Al-Anon in 1979 after experiencing the end of a toxic marriage that was fueled by my codependency issues and my x's alcoholism/drug addiction. I am a woman looking forward to retiring in the new year. I am the mother of two children and grandmother of 1 teen. Hope to get to know you better on our board.
