Hello all,

I am new here and thought I would introduce myself. I have been attending f2f meetings here for a few months but my A's work schedule is becoming more that hectic so I have been looking for an online community that I can come too since its hard to get to meetings when you have a youngin'

A is currently in recovery, attending AA and I alanon. We do have a weekly date night where we go to AA/alanon meetings on Saturdays together. I started my recovery on Dec 28th 2012, the day A decided to get help. I thought finally prayers are answered. I had some people to talk to and they all told me to get to a meeting of my own, I thouhgt nah I got this. Boy was I wrong. I resisted for some time until my therapist (also in the program) said you know my suggestions are really get your butt to the program. So I did. I have found some great tools, I love my meditation and being around those who can relate. But I still struggle, negative thoughts and let go and let god do not come easy to me. I am finding myself questioning the sobriety daily. I need to stop worring about others, and just myself. Our relationship is meh.. but hoping it will all come around in time. Its just hard being lonely but that is when I need to fill my mind with positive the most. I am trying to work the steps but have not found that woman that I click with yet, in time I suppose.

Anyway that is my intro... hope to see you all around.

Kat

Hi, Kat. Welcome to MIP. Thank you for sharing some of your recovery story here. So good to know that you have been in Al-Anon and are working your program as is your husband. On-line meetings are in our chat room twice a day. The schedule is at the top of the board. This message board is a great place to interact with others of us who are in Al-Anon or getting ready to join Al-Anon. The purpose of this message board is also noted at the top of the board in what I remember to be blue. It does get lonely at times, I so understand that. Fellowship is so helpful with our groups but it can't always be available 24 hours a day. That's one of the things I've really liked about our message board - I can come here when I really need interaction with folks who understand the isms we are working through in recovery. Hope you find what you are looking for here.

Hey Kat

welcome and I am glad u showed up here....Also good on you, getting to meets and u got a sponsor....no worries, she will get you on the steps as you progress...

I think I got to step 4 in my first year, but it was not in the beginning of it.......I, too had an issue with the first 3 steps...after that , I loved the steps, but those first 3 were the hardest on me.

and she is right...I would do my own meets, my own program,  yea, its ok to share some of each others recovery, but its a fine line...ones recovery b/c it is so spiritual, its a very personal and private matter...I mean we share our innards w/our sponsors and our posts on the boards, in meetings....so yea, things at the first 2-3 years, even, until you really get rolling, can be tough.....One day at a time.....and Easy does it are my slogans for ya......

Hi Kat,
Welcome to our board of MIP, glad that you have started going to F2F Meetings. It takes time and practice to do this program.

This program is for You, you wil gain strength and hope and wisdom to be able to find those solutions that only living with an alcoholic can bring. Also happy to see your A is in recovery.

Trust that you are on the right path, serenity doesnt come over nite, only when you work it.

Keep coming back, we are here for you!

Hugs, Bettina

Welcome to the family kat...try doing gratitude that all of your problem haven't suddenly disappeared...that is what helps us to keep coming back and learning new stuff and meeting others to give the new stuff away to.   That's how it works.   Keep coming back (((((hugs)))))...smile

Love your therapist...give it a hug for me...mine was that way also.
