Love that I found this, a must read, I could never have said it so eloquently!

Emotional discomfort, when accepted, rises, crests and falls in a series of waves. Each wave washes a part of us away and deposits treasures we never imagined. Out goes naivete, in comes wisdom; out goes anger, in comes discernment; out goes despair, in comes kindness. No one would call it easy, but the rhythm of emotional pain that we learn to tolerate is natural, constructive and expansive... The pain leaves you healthier than it found you.

Well to me??  NOT fighting the karma helped me......yes, i have to FIRST feel the anger, or fear, or grief, whatever emotions I need to feel, then comes acceptance and then making my peace/coming to terms with it.....NOT fighting it makes it easier.....I may not agree w/the karma..may not want it, but if there is nothing I can do , after feeling the emotions, I work to come to terms with it....walk away if I do not have the solution.........Sometimes I do feel at the saturation point re: pain.......I AM tireder more now.....I just want peace and ride out the rest of my years with less hardship and more peace......program gives me a shot at doing that

Hi Breaking Free

I must note that I feel  the key word here is "When Accepted"  Before alanon I never accepted emotional discomfort.   I fought it, I blamed, I denied it and pretended all was well.    Needless to say  I did not grow very muchno

Alanon taught me the wisdom of  acceptance and then the transformation began

Thank you.
