Pools...Peace....and maybe a bit of Progress??

I am a very good swimmer, so summer and its pool season is my time of year

When I am cutting through the water, over hand stroke, swimming effortlessly I have no soft tissue issues in my left lower back that even hurts my upper leg...I have no worries b/c its just the water and me...I have no age b/c I am at one w/ the water which brings me back to how I started....in the womb...In water...AND my body is 80% water....Sea water, yes, but to me?? water is water when I am cruising in the pool

I decided to float on my back and just look up at the sky...it was a pastel blue with LOADS of clouds watching down at us in the pool

I thought I would see what images I would see in those clouds...what were they telling me

I saw a BIG fluffy froggie right over me...he was plump, not a care in the world..seemed that his needs were met...so maybe my inner HP is telling me   "no worries, U will meet your needs"

Then I saw a dove...with his/her head pointed where he/she was determined to go..focused...undaunted, and yet so unthreatening looking...and then I saw the neck go down into the shoulder to the wings...Powerful...lots of good muscle there to propel ms/mr. dove to his/her destination....maybe I am reminded that I , too, must be kind like the dove,  but never let anyone take my power and to be as wise as the snake..

Then, as I lay there, I saw a little mouse...carefree, playful and full of mischief...again..seemingly not worried about a thing but romping and playing in the sky....maybe that is message to me that I must set aside time OFF of worrying about finding more work and to just "let loose and PLAY....to play with abandon...let the worries go away to either solve themselves or merely pass by like so many trains at a station"

As i gazed up at my "totems"  (lessons in the forms of things, animals, people to us native americans)  I gave thanks to Creator for these lovely totems and the messages I got from them...

I had a ball in the pool, being my own company and noone in the pool even caught on that my friends up in the sky were having fun with me

CHEERS everyone

(((neshema))) Such a day of peace, color, symbolism and fun for you in your watery time of solitude. I hope the rest of your day is as light, deep and carefree as it has been for you thus far.

((( Nesherna )))

I wish I had the imagination and thoughts about our world you guys have. I read so much on here and what great stories and thoughts people have. I admire you and what you can see when swimming. I'm in awe.

Me....I sit on my back patio....OK....I see a couple of dozen rabbits eating the plants. Now you know why I can't have flowers...hehe. Mom and dad quail walking by with their dozen babies. How cute...They are looking to jump into the trees soon for rest. Great looking hawk flying overhead.....I think he's looking at the rabbits. Then here comes the great big ole lizard popping up and over the rocks. It's very hot outside so I turn on the hose and that leads to cleaning the patio and furniture. Cooled me off a bit too. Now it's all done and the sun is going down so time to come back in to the AC and make some dinner and thank God for my life.

Well I guess God gave me a gift didn't he.....

Peace be with you.....

Cathy...that was great movie directing...I loved it.  Kinda got to me a bit with the Hawk maybe looking at the rabbits (they do baby chicks too) and while the hawk has deep spiritual meaning for me sometimes I don't want to think of them diving on a prey.  Thanks for the view.  ((((hugs)))) smile

Glad you jumped into the river of nature with us all today, Cathy.  I really like being in it because everything is what it is.  No bird wears a mask.  No tree wants to be a blade of grass.  Flowers grow, bloom and let go.

I hadn't paid much attention to nature until one night I was driving home on my street at a slow speed.  A neighbor's yard was lit up by those little solar lights we can buy.  I noticed three rabbits running inside the circle of lights.  They appeared to be chasing each other in a circle - almost like playing tag.  A few weeks later I noticed a baby rabbit and a baby squirrel chasing each other to a tree.  One would run to the tree, the other would follow.  The squirrel would only go up the tree at a distance the rabbit could almost touch him with his nose.  I was amazed!  I had no idea they play together.  I've learned so much from nature and learned to appreciate it more each year I grow older.  Breaks my heart to see animals dead in the road after being hit by a car.  That wasn't true when I was younger, but it so true now.

I'm with Jerry on that hawk, too.  I know it needs to eat, but - sad way to do it.  Can't watch the animal shows either unless everything is fun or funny.  I know its not realistic to want the animal kingdom to act any other way - they are what they are - but, too difficult for me to watch it.  Yet, hawks are amazing to watch. Their strength, wing span and steady, patient gazes and the graceful way they fly and swoop down and up again is amazing to watch.

I can't fish for the same reason.  I don't want to put the worm on a hook or catch a fish by one either.  I'd make noise in the boat just to scare fish away.

I'm glad I started this thread

Recovery is not just the books, steps and the meetings, its the realization that we are all parts of the universe...the worms and the humans...and all in between....Now...why Creator made  Mosquitoes, Roaches and fire ants, well , when its my time I have my yellow lined note pad for our "discussion"

I have a big back yard...not big enough for the horse I want again, but plenty big enough for the dogs

and we have possum and raccoons around here, In fact, I know which drainage thing on the street that they "cop some sleep in" I toss out stuff for them to eat, old bread and other stuff that I know won't hurt them

Druing warm months I sit out at night, in my long tee shirt and undies on and I just first  let my five senses loose.....the soft evening breezes with the smell of the foliage, trees and flowers around me...I look up to see what moon we have, and I listen to the crickets in chorus, after the Locusts have gone to bed after their chirping

at night I see the fire flies darting here and there twinkling their little lights like tiny shooting stars  and I see the homeless cats prowling looking for their daily rations...

I have this really comfortable chair I like to sit in and just observe...People have gone in for the night, so its me, my dogs  (cat is inside) and nature..Well what nature one can enjoy in the "burbs" outside of Dallas...

I so miss the places I used to live in back east..20 plus acre farms where I could really really get into nature, but here in the suburbs I have to kinda get creative and be patient..Back then on weekends, I would pack a bedroll with a clean change of clothes, some food and get up on my horse, dog  running beside us w/my bow and arrows slung over my shoulder and off I would go and be gone till Sunday night...I had this little brook I would "make camp" by and to me that was about as close to heaven a body could be....No crazy assed people screaming and hollaring, it was just me and nature...I bathed in that brook...Swam during the day in it....brought my note book to write about how I felt, and what I was experiencing at the moment..The things I saw and smelled and heard....this was the part of my past that I want to remember and hold onto...

I was "untamed" then and still today...I love my quiet solitude even more, now with my maturing and my understanding of me, better...

Here at my little house, when I venture out back,  when the dogs are inside and its just me, I can hear the rustle of a bush sharing its space with a feral kitty or perhaps a raccoon or even a possum....I sit and watch, listening to the activity, not wanting to disturb  anyone and sometimes I find out who is sharing my near space....Sometimes I do not

I look up at the stars if they are visible and I wonder if my friends and family on the east coast and the west side can see the same stars...Are they looking at the same constellations that I am????

I dream of being back in the country, with a few horses and being in nature....As a native american, I crave the country...woods...trees...grass...wildlife.....quiet......we "Injuns" aint real good with the pavement and asphalt way of life...

In my next life, that will happen for me again.......Now,Till it changes, IF it changes,  I just have to go there in my head...

Beautiful just beautiful neshema. I live where the stars really come out at night because it is quite dark here. No light of the city where I live.

I remember the fireflies when I was a kid. Used to catch them and put in bottles. Not very nice but what did a kid know.

Where I live we don't have homeless cats because the coyotes have control here. I haven't seen raccoon or possum but the havalina are quite a site. One morning when I was outside smoking ( quit 3 years ago ) just minding my own business, I looked up and there coming around the corner was a very sick looking Bobcat with a rabbit in its mouth. Scared the hell out of me but he was more interested in his meal so he continue to walk right by me then run off into the distance. Pretty cool after is was over :)

Thank you my friend for giving me memories I don't usually think about. You have opened up my mind to think about stuff I usually don't think about.

(((( hugs ))))
