Hello everyone! I've been in the program for almost a year now, and have not had a lot of luck with finding a sponsor. I've built a nice group of people I can call in program to chat with - which is great!- but everyone I've asked to actually be my sponsor has been too busy, or had too many sponsees, or not been far enough along in their recovery themselves.
So I'm posting hoping there's a woman who would be interested in being my sponsor. (Yes, I'm a woman, too! Not trying to stalk anyone :) ) I would ask individuals via the board, but I know being an online sponsor isn't for everyone. I can do regular contact and work the steps by e-mail, and if you're up for it, perhaps a Skype chat once in a while.
Thanks for any responses! Feel free to respond by e-mail or private message. I check in here pretty regularly.
I was a bit worried when I saw that no one had responded to u reaching out....Because sponsorship and asking for help are a huge part of the program. I think it is great u are ready for the next level of support and guidance.
I would suggest going onto the phone bridge and maybe calling people that have what u want. People give out their numbers for support on that (see link below). OR...Sometimes members have better luck finding a sponsor by first just reaching out to someone by email or through chat and testing the waters and first establishing a supportive relationship--then ask them to be a more permanent sponsor if it is a good fit. I think u will hear of or chat with ppl who may offer to be a temporary sponsor, too. And then it could work into a more permanent thing as u go along and see if it is filling your needs.
