let the miracles keep coming!

I have a miracle to share--I am sorry for those of you who don't believe in miracles. Anyhow, I am sitting here today w/ a pair of new eyes & I believe that is a miracle! I had the RLE surgery June 4th & June 17th. I have nothing but good feelings about it. Yes, it was scary & yes, I did have some reservations at times but 4 to 5 minutes later each eye, I have been restored to sight. I was so near-sighted that one of the doctors basically was amazed by me! He knew what I had going on & now sees that even someone like me can have my vision restored.

So, no I didn't lose touch--I was experiencing & recovering from surgeries. My close friend in the program kept saying, when I was complaining, that this too, shall pass! Just like any kind of recovery, it takes time. I had been on a roller-coaster ride!

One of our program members died over a week ago & I was privileged to attend his funeral service. He was a member of a different program but I feel like I need to mention him. Through all that I have been through lately, I feel that his 22 year life was cut short! His grandma had been attending Alanon meetings & I really got to know her so I attended her grandson's funeral--I really didn't know him very well but I do know a lot about him now & how he had a heart of gold! He was a blessing to a lot of people. I hope that when I die that many people will remember me like they did him.

Today is a good day! I hope someone out there can relate to the joy I feel! I wanted to get the good vibes out there again as I have in the past! You are all miracles just for being you & being available on this forum. You didn't get here by accident & have a reason to be here! No matter what life throws you, I hope you gently & easily find hope & realize that this too shall pass!

P.S. My dad passed in 2011 & today I can truly say that his life was not in vain as he was the reason I was able to get those surgeries. We sold his house in March & the money went to a good cause--my vision.

Kath...everyone deserves the miracles and so many actually get them and miss knowing.  Happy for you...very happy as I was remembering my own return to full vision on Thanksgiving Day two years back.  I posted the event on the board; that one eye clinic told me my condition was inoperable and thru a contact with an Al-Anon member her in town I was encouraged to go to another doctor who after investigating the prior diagnosis and doing his own investigation he replaced the lens into my left eye and I went from blind to 20/20  IN BOTH EYES!!  I have been farsighted for most of my life and today a friend caught me reading without glasses.  I practice gratitude for this Thanksgiving Day miracle...ever since.   Yes the miracles keep coming...I should never forget that.   ((((hugs))))  smile

I have your back on this one girlfriend, miracles are very real and happen all around us each day in the most subtle ways then when I least expect it, miracles happen in amazing ways.

Regarding your eyes Helen Keller once said: "It is a terrible thing to see but have no vision."  You, my friend have both in my humble opinion.
