Fear ;(

Today I met some one that opened up to me in just minutes and told me he is an active A and he left his program because he feels he can do this on his own.. I looked at him and said if you know you can then why so many relapses. He cried.. My heart went out to him. I couldn't say anything because at that moment I thought about my son. My fear of him coming out of rehab. There goes my mind projecting his future. When I'm learning the three C's. but I'm still weak and hurt from all that he caused.. Is this normal ??

Got that right Gaby...As normal as it gets...just accept it as being normal with alternatives at being normal ++ in the growth of your recovery.  Stay in the moment and practice, practice, practice...you're doing okay.  Nice being faced with a fixit opportunity and not falling for it.  ((((hugs)))) smile

It's normal for you. After awhile, with step work and meetings, the weakness and hurt are replaced, and then you'll experience a new normal. My best to you as you work the program and take care of you.

Yes it is very normal! Just becuz they are A, the things that happened still hurt.

Took me YEARS to get where my life was familiar and all that hurt went away.

I do like the take care of you. Look at each day only. hugz. debilyn

Gaby,

As hard as it is to accept this disease is a lifetime struggle, sobriety doesnt come in a flash.

Just persevere with this program and learn, absorb as much as you can. It can only help you.
It can teach you how to emotionally detach and stop hurting yourself. We only have power over are own life and connection
to our HP will take care of the rest.

Wishing you the best,
Bettina
