Just checking in..life hard today

I write on here rarely but I'm feeling upset tonight.  My man has been doing brilliantly..or so I think.  He has reduced his alcohol intake to 4 pints a night,  a little more on weekends. Well he has had to.  he has got into such debt after subsidising his drinking with payday loans that he is now in trouble..all extra money is denied him. works monthly pay is taken by his debts.  So he is reliant on my kindness, not that I make a deal of it.  he has almost reached rock bottom. HE set his new drinking regime..not me.  Tonight he drank his quota and then I was subjected to an hours abuse because he said I'd thrown a beer away..I hadn't.  I'm feeling so so tired and upset.  A really nice 'normal' day turned into misery.  I guess it's never going to be any different.  I have been feeling so depressed for a while.  I'm so lonely. I'm poorly with needs of my own.

i keep wondering where is money goes...he comes straight home from work. He smokes but I don't smell or see evidence of alcohol.  In the past I've found empty cans hidden but not recently...I do search the house.  Should I be paying for his alcohol.  Not really I suppose, but what would the consequences be.

Hi. Thank you for sharing some of your reality with us. What you are describing in your post fits well into the ways alcoholism affects us. MIP has on-line meetings at 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. for those of us who have family or friends affected by alcoholism or problem drinking. We also invite you to attend face to face Alanon meetings in your City. There is nothing you can do to help him stop drinking - that is his problem, but you can get the help you need to deal with the ways his drinking has affected you. I hope you keep sharing here, attend meetings, and read literature that you can usually get at the face to face meetings. Living with this disease without the support of people who understand its affects or getting help yourself only gets worse. We're glad you're here. Keep coming back.

Just sending you hugs and support today! Keep coming back and know that you are not alone, as others have walked this walk before you and with you in their own ways.

Life will continue to be hard for you unless you take steps to take care of the precious you.  Coming here and following the guidance that has been provided is a wonderful beginning...hugs
